章 27: Tale of Two Sisters

Seraphyne awakened at two o'clock in the morning.

In the eerie stillness of the night, Seraphyne found herself standing on the terrace, her breath forming frosty clouds in the cold air. She could see her husband's form beneath the blankets, seemingly undisturbed by her sudden departure from their bed.

The room, while chilly, did not affect her.

Her body remained strangely immune to the cold.

Outside, a soft, ethereal static noise filled the air, like whispers carried by the wind. Seraphyne's body moved as if guided by some unseen force, stepping gracefully onto the moonlit terrace. The blue moon hung in the sky, casting an otherworldly glow upon the world below.

She called out to her husband, but her voice seemed swallowed by the night. Panic surged within her as she turned to look back into the room, only to find it empty, as if he had never been there. The realization sent shivers down her spine.

"Zephyir?" she cried out, her voice barely a whisper, but it was as if her words had been stolen by the moonlit night.

Desperation clawed at her chest as she struggled to comprehend the surreal situation. She felt as though she were trapped in an illusion, a sense of distress growing with every passing second.

As she gazed upon the moon, a wave of visions possessed her, scenes of tragedy and heartache. Her heart pounded in her chest, and the world around her blurred and shifted as if time and space were unraveling.

"No! This can't be happening!" Seraphyne's voice echoed into the night, her words filled with desolation and anger. She tried to scream, to break free from the grip of this horrible vision, but her voice remained trapped within her.

"Sister… I am coming for you!" The voice, a haunting whisper that seemed to emerge from deep within her own mind, sent a chill down her spine. It was an angel's voice, but it carried a promise and a threat.

With no other options left, Seraphyne retreated into the sanctuary of her soul space. It was her only refuge, a place where she could escape the disorienting illusion that had enveloped her.

Unbeknownst to her, Celestine also felt the connection for a moment when she stared at the blue moon on the glass window of the laboratory. She had waited for this moment for so long, the chance to reunite with her sister, Seraphyne, finally.

'Someday, it will lead me back to you.'

Once upon a time, when the sun bathed the kingdom in its holy light, an unexpected event unfolded.

The day began like any other, but fate had other plans.

The princess went into labor.

Thunderous clouds gathered in the once-clear blue sky, their dark presence casting an ominous shadow over the land. Lightning streaked across the heavens, filling the air with a sense of dread.

The sun itself, usually a beacon of light and warmth, transformed into a fiery red orb, casting a sinister hue upon the kingdom.

As if drawn by the forthcoming doom, vultures circled overhead, their ominous cries adding to the growing unease that gripped Misor.

Amidst this unnatural display of nature's fury, the kingdom's oldest priestess, a revered figure from the town of witches, descended from the mystical mountain. Her steps were hurried and determined as she carried with her an urgent message that could not wait.

"Time is running out!"

However, as the priestess approached the doorstep of Thirstenpale Coven's palace, she was met with resistance.

The coven's soldiers, their expressions a mix of concern and suspicion, attempted to halt her frantic advance.

"The witch planned to assassinate the princess in labor!" the lunar knight cried out in desperation, his voice carrying a dire warning. "Mighty soldiers! Let us defend against sorcery!"

Undeterred by the soldiers' efforts to block her path, the priestess continued to push forward, her determination unwavering. She sought an audience with the princess, knowing that the fate of the kingdom hung in the balance.

However, when she finally reached her destination, it was not the princess she had found but the crown prince himself. Grief and tension hung heavy in the air as she knelt before him, her words filled with urgency and a deep sense of worry.

The Prophecy of the Duelling Sisters

"In the shadow of destiny's cradle, two stars will rise.

Born of the same blood, with futures maligned.

One with light's grace, the other with darkness imbued.

In a cosmic dance of fate, their paths will always meet.

Two hearts in turmoil, a bond torn asunder.

Their love was forbidden, a world torn asunder.

As they grow in power, their hatred shall swell.

In a final clash, where only one shall dwell.

Through trials and tears, the choices they'll make.

The world's fate is held captive, at stake for their sake.

Only when one twin's breath ceases.

Will the world find its harmony, and the prophecy is served..."

The crown prince, his expression grave and troubled, gazed down at the kneeling priestess. "What is the meaning of this prophecy, venerable one?"

The priestess, her face lined with the wisdom of ages, looked up at the crown prince, her eyes filled with sorrow and dread. "Your Highness, the prophecy foretells a dire fate for your children, the twin princesses," she began, her words carefully chosen.

"It speaks of a terrible curse threatening to engulf the land of Misor and even the end of the world."

She took a deep breath, her frail form trembling. "The second princess, born of hybrid blood, will carry within her the bloodline of both werewolves and vampires. A destiny of great power and great peril will mark her. Her existence is seen as a threat by some, for her potential is immense, but it is a potential that could bring about unimaginable destruction in exchange for people's safety."

The crown prince's eyes widened.

The priestess continued, "The first princess, born with the blood of demons coursing through her veins, is also entangled in this dark prophecy. She will be a creature of immense darkness, her very existence an abomination. Her path is one of malevolence, and she is destined to sow chaos and despair wherever she goes. But she is destined to kill the other child."

The crown prince's face grew pale as he listened to the priestess's words. The future of his twin daughters, his flesh and blood.

The priestess lowered her head in sorrow, her voice filled with regret. "Your Highness, it is said that the curse can only be broken by the unity of your daughters. They must overcome their predestined paths of destruction and join forces to bring balance to their intertwined fates. But this task will not be easy, for the forces that seek to exploit their powers are relentless."

The crown prince's mind raced as he contemplated.

The fate of his daughters, and indeed the entire kingdom of Misor, now rested in the hands of these twin princesses, destined to be both a beacon of hope and a harbinger of doom.

"Is there another way?" The prince asked earnestly.

"Unfortunately, there is..."

"Tell me about it!"

"If one of the two sacrifices and dies."

No one knew that the princess in labor had heard of their talk, and she took action.

A decision that she will bury till death.
