章 69: Lucian

Trying not to focus on the shape of her lips or the small crease between her brows, Lucian sighed, "Is that so? Doubtful, but do go on and read it to me. I suppose there is no escaping your intentions when you have your mind about something." he said almost bitterly. 

Caroline frowned slightly at him, undoubtedly picking up on the veiled meaning behind his words. Lucian was glad. The excitement and light in her eyes reminded him all too keenly of how she looked the night before in his arms.

Lucian watched her as she took a deep breath before reading the prophecy,

"A daughter of the earth, like Springtime embodied, can see the past, falls to the ground.

A son of blood, like Autumn everlasting, will capture her heart.

A daughter of the earth, like Summer unending, will befriend her.

A son of blood, child of Winter's frigid wind, will grieve her.
