I wasn't particularly sure what Amelia was on about with her snide comments and not so subtle jabs, but the whole exchange made me very very uncomfortable.

A sigh of relief escaped through my lips when they finally walked away, and I plopped back into my seat.

Harriet didn't both to hide her frown as we sat back down, and I fought the urge to look in the direction they went.

"Okay. What the hell was that?" my best friend snapped. Harriet was clearly pissed, but not at me. 

Her anger was directed towards that sly woman hanging on Kieran's arm. 

Amelia's comments had pissed me off so bad too, but what was more annoying was the fact that Kieran just stood there and let her sprout rubbish.

"I don't know, babe. I'm just as confused as you are," I said back to my best friend.

Amelia had been trying to get a reaction from me, her jabs landing with a precise strike in my already shattered heart.
