Just like a crow's mouth¹, the sound of a female scream echoed throughout the cavern as soon as the words were uttered. 

"What is the meaning of this?!" A male voice up ahead roared.

"Aaaaand there it is. Why don't you guys go and take a look?" She turned to Ke Qingyan and asked whether the younger recruits wanted to see the commotion.

A number of them perked up and scooted through the crowd of bodies to see what all the noise was about. Wen Ya could already guess what happened and decided to stay behind but Ke Qingyan joined in the others on their curiosity.
