章 1: Couldn’t help, but to be drawn to you

I've been wondering around different places for a long time now. Nothing catches my interest and I don't wanna remember my past nor do I wanna live in the present. It was a coincidence that I happened to passed by this town near the border of the human world and Demon world. HELP! He cried, there in his arm was a small girl. She looked just like a porcelain doll and didn't look at all alive. There was only a constant moving of the chest that was getting weaker and weaker.

The man's face was stained with tears and snot, he looked like he's lived passed several harsh battles. The man's moment of weakness considerably weaken the strong presence he had, looking nothing like the past his scars and body told of.

" Please someone save my little sister!" He screamed yet again, nobody went to help. They all stayed away, there were remarks of disgust all over the place.

" Why don't you and your half-breed freaks just die" yelled out a fat man.

" Yeah, freaks and disgusting creatures such as yourself shouldn't come into existence" Said the short little boy next to the fat man.

The man holding the sister just continued to yell out for help, and he wouldn't let go of any hope. It looked like the siblings were a product of a human and a demon from the other side. Products like those two were deeply looked down upon on both sides.

" I'm willingly to do anything, please someone save my sister!"

My heart skipped a beat looking at him, something about him was calling out to my very soul. Before I knew it I was already in front of him. His eyes contain determination and proud, but yet he chooses to let it all go to save his little sister.

"Anything?" I asked

"Anything!" He replied

" Follow me then" I said as I lead him to where I was currently residing.

1 week later

I healed his sister all up and we were all currently in my living room drinking tea.

" So, benefactor what do you want me to do to return your favor?" He looked at me with his bright eyes.

I felt a jabbing pain in my heart, those eyes were so familiar. Without myself realizing it I said " Be my bodyguard."

He looked quite shock I could practically hear him say ' something so easy?'

" You will get paid too and your sister can continue living here since I have spare rooms provided with food, and that's all the benefit you will get for being my bodyguard."

" Yeah! I still get to be with older sister" Said Esta the little sister. I patted her on the head and she snuggled up to me.

" Yes, Ma'am" He said with his stone face, not a trace of that crying face was left on his face.

Yet, again I felt that stabbing pain in my heart.

" Next, time just call me Baba " I said as I hurried to my room.

Why do I keep hurting? I don't even understand, it happens again I silently told myself.

A few hours later there came a knock on the door. " Come in" I said without looking back.

" General Bai Luo, the king has order for you to come back to the front line, this is an imperial order!" The man in black said.

" Give me 1 month, just 1 month and I'll be back, tell the idiot king that" I said as the man in black left a imperial token behind.

A few hours later another knock came at the door.

" Come in" I said

The stone face Victor brother of Esta came.

" I came to deliver tea since it is getting into the cold months to help get you warm."

I couldn't help but to get up and move closer to Victor. I rested my hand on his face, his clear bright eyes mesmerized me. He gently move my hands away from his face. " Men and women should keep a proper distance" he said as he gently put down the tea plate.

" You may leave now" I said, the warmth of his skin still lingered upon my fingers.

Again and again I wanted to be closer to him. It was as if my very existence couldn't be without him. " Ha!" I laughed out loud, I'm so stupid. He's only tolerating me because I saved his sister.

My non existing self esteem went down. Who would want a female such as myself. I've lived on the battlefield most of my life, I couldn't even be considered a girl. Feeling the pain in my heart again I saw darkness surrounded me. I lost my grasp on reality and fell into a deep pit of darkness. " Ah, this floor was very cold" I thought to myself before I fainted.

When I woke up I was still on the same cold hard floor. My hands were stained with blood after touching my head. I felt very dizzy. The cold air surrounding me brought me to reality, " hahaha" I laughed out loud. I'm used to this, but from where? My head hurt when I tried remembering the past.

I got up to go take a bath, I needed to get rid of this blood smell. Right as I opened the door Victor appeared shocking both me and him.

" What happened?" He said as he looked at my bloodstain head and hand. I couldn't bother to look at his face. I chose to ignore him and walked away. He grabbed my arm and pulled me back, I saw worry on his face. I pulled my arm back and repeated his words to him, " Men and women should keep a proper distance " A long firm line showed on his lips, how laughable I thought to myself.

I let the cold drop of water bring me back from my haze. I was shivering from head to toe. I ignored my body's protest for warmth as I lay there in the freezing water. Flashes of distant memories played in my head I couldn't seem to remember them after I opened my eyes. I've been laying in that tub for god knows how long.

Getting up from the tub, I felt my blood rush to my head and my vision blurred. I was about to hit that same hard cold floor again and I couldn't control it. Instead of that cold floor I fell on something warm, firm, and sturdy. My vision continued to stay hazy for a while. I couldn't quite figure out my surrounding, I was in this semi dark room with a male. He was saying something I couldn't hear. After my vision clear Victor was right in front of my eyes, his was face was covered in worried.

I laughed out loud, I couldn't believe I was dreaming about him even when my body was in such a weakened state. I whispered, " this was only a dream" as I cried and pulled him into my arms. He didn't resist, so this was definitely a dream, the real Victor didn't like me. His face showed uncomfortableness as I kissed him and my hands glided over his back. Then it was all a haze, I don't remember anything after that except for the sharp pain I felt down at my pubic region for a moment.

After waking up, I was alone in my room. It was really all a dream.

1 months later I said my goodbyes to Victor and Esta. On the carriage ride back to the imperial place, my period came late.
