章 3: Chapter 1.3
(SELENA'S POV)
"Selena."
I look behind me and find Spencer waving at me. I sit back down and he sits in front of me.
"So Selena, why did you decide to come to this school?"
After chewing, I reply, "Because the school looks pretty."
He drops his utensils and starts giggling softly. I glare at him but tried not to get too upfront.
"My bad, which part of the school looks pretty?"
"I like the uniforms and the view best."
He continues to look at me like I am telling a funny joke. I frown.
"I can show you around the school. There's a hidden place with a gorgeous view behind the school," he offers.
"I appreciate the offer but I would have to decline," I tell him.
He gives a subtle smirk before saying, "Alright, fine."
After lunch, we head back to the classroom. Interestingly, they are holding the introduction game in the afternoon. I observe the groups of people flocking together with their respective friend groups. They're close with each other, that's not too common.
Instead, I am stuck here with Spencer who's doing something on his desk. I try to take a peek but he immediately covers what looks like a sketchpad by hugging it.
"Sorry," I say.
Once I look away, he continues to do whatever he was doing. Perhaps he's writing notes down, that I'm unsure of.
The teacher is still prepping the activities when a student barges in the door. He acts similarly to Spencer when he entered as well. He drops his bag on somebody's desk and rushes to our direction.
"Yo Spencer!" He exclaimed.
"Sup Lucas," Spencer replies as they do some sort of handshake.
"Who's this girl beside you? Did you replace me already?" Lucas asks.
"Yeah I am, what are you going to do about it?"
Lucas puts his hand on his chest and proceeds to drop on the floor. I look at him in confusion because I don't understand what is happening at all.
"Stand up, Lucas," Spencer orders to which the former follows.
Lucas turns his attention to me once again and asks, "Hi, what's your name?"
"Selena. My name's Selena."
"Cool name, you new here?" He asks.
"Yeah," Spencer replies. I frown at him.
"Hey, you know I'm asking her and you, right?" Lucas asks him.
And there they go. They blabber again and again until the teacher says that the activity is starting.
"Everyone, sit down and count up to number ....."
"Okay class, go to your groups now."
Everyone stands up and goes to their groups while I visually remember the number I got.
4. I look at the hand signals of the people around to look for the ones who raise the same number.
"Spencer Spencer, which one did you get again?" Lucas asks.
"I got 7. You?"
"Aw man, I got 4. How about you Miss Selena?"
I hold up my hand raising 4 and he was visibly and audibly happy about that.
"It's destiny. I'm sorry Spencer but it's not about who's first, it's about fate. Let's go Selena."
Lucas grabs my arm but Spencer pulls the other. I shoot him a look and say, "What are you doing?"
He pauses for a bit before saying, 'Nothing. By the way, Lucas, let's meet up after class."
Lucas gives him an 'OK' sign before trying to pull me again. I remove his hand and stand up to tell him, "You don't need to pull me."
He throws his hands up in air as if saying, alright. Then, we leave to look for those with the same number.
