Kagami and Yui stood side by side looking at the wreckage before them. Yui had a triumphant look on her face while Kagami looked dumbstruck and slightly horrified at what had just occurred in front of the two. Rio, Hiro, Haruka and Akito were laughing like the lunatics they were. Surrounding the group were bits and pieces of a blown up vehicle and debris from the warehouse they were in.
How did this happen? What the hell was going on in the first place?
Let's go back to a few hours earlier before all of this transpired.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Ohayo Kagami-kun!!"
Kagami scowled at the voice the came through the phone. It had been a few days since his match against Shutoku and he was banned from basketball so his legs could recover. The team were training today and he was attending the sessions despite not taking part.
He was sitting on the bench, a couple meters away from nigou the dog mascot, when he received a call from a troublesome girl.
"What do you want?"
"Mou Kagami-kun. You should be honoured to receive my call,"
"...."
"*Cough* Anyway the reason I called is that I'm meeting up with Rio and the group later today. Do you wanna join? You should be free since you're not training,"
"How do you know I'm not training?"
"I figured after that intense match with Shutoku. You did push your legs a lot from what I saw."
"Whatever. I don't really want to come."
"Ehh, pleeaase. It's won't be as fun for me if you don't come,"
"Shut up. Knowing you, something bad is bound to happen,"
"Ouch. That hurts my kokoro Kagami-kun. By the way, Rio said if you don't show up, your photos from the maid café will 'accidentally' be released in Seirin."
"...That bastard!! I'll kill him!!" Kagami shouted attracting the attention of the team who were training. Most look startled at the red-head's outburst while Riko gave him a glare for interrupting them. He apologised and quickly excused himself.
Furihata blinked and asked, "I wonder what that was about."
Tsuchida looked at him and threw the ball to Izuki. "Who knows. He was wearing an annoyed expression though when he was on the phone."
"Forget about that baka and focus," Hyuga snapped. Kuroko gazed at the door where his partner had left and also wondered what got him so agitated.
Kagami came back in a moment later and went straight to Riko with a pale face. He ignored the stares of the team and quickly asked Riko to take the afternoon off. She was confused since Kagami has never once asked to be excused from training and reluctantly allowed him to do so.
"Is everything okay Kagami-kun?" Kuroko asked. Kagami jumped in surprise and glared at his shadow. "The hell Kuroko?! Don't just pop out of nowhere!"
"I was here the whole time," Kuroko said with a deadpan expression.
"Tch. Of course you were." Kagami muttered grabbing his bag. "I'm leaving early today. Got some business to take care of."
Kuroko didn't say anything and just watched as Kagami hurriedly left the gym.
'Kagami-kun...is acting weird.'
~*~*~*~*~*~
Yui was leaning against the wall with the four delinquent friends on either side of her. They were playing 'I spy' while waiting for the final member of their newly formed friend group. [Kagami had no clue of this]
"Hmm, I spy....something big and brown." Hiro said.
"...The roof there?" Yui pointed to the building across from them.
"Yep. You're so smart," Hiro said with an awed expression. Everyone just looked at him with the urge to facepalm. What an idiot.
"Okay since I got it, I'll go next." Yui sighed. She looked around before saying, "I spy an angry tiger."
"Huh?" The group looked confused until Rio looked to the direction she was pointing and gulped nervously.
"You sure got some nerve blackmailing me like that you bastard," a certain redhead seethed as he stalked closer to the group with a glare directed towards them, specifically Rio.
"K-Kagami-kun, so happy to see you made it," Rio hid behind Akito who kicked him and sent the cornrow tumbling towards the beast. Kagami reached down and grabbed the front of Rio's shirt before pulling him up to face him. Rio could feel alarm bells ringing in his body knowing he was in great danger and he would have been had Yui not intervened.
"Calm down Kagami-kun. Remember you're still recovering and can't afford to get hurt."
"It's only my legs that were hurt."
"Doesn't matter. You're straining your body holding Rio-san like that. Let him go,"
Kagami knew the girl was right and huffed before intentionally dropping Rio on the ground. Rio wanted to cry realising none of his friends bothered to help him and glared at them. They avoided his eyes that screamed 'betrayal' and Haruka spoke to the group.
"So what's the plan?"
Rio finally stood up, albeit still hurt, and cleared his voice before announcing, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here this fine afternoon to–"
"Get to the damn point!" Kagami growled. Yui and the rest nodded with him.
"Geez, so impatient. *cough* Very well then, my second uncle gave me his old car so you know what that means..."
"Free taxi?" Akito smirked. Rio glared at him. "No moron. It means we get to travel anywhere we want to go,"
"...so a free taxi," Haruka deadpanned. Rio blushed with embarrassment. "When you put it like that..."
"Well where is it?"
"Fufufu, my dearest comrades. It's in an abandoned warehouse just outside of town."
"Why the heck is it all the way there?" Yui asked.
"My second uncle lives close there and didn't want to bring it over here," Rio explained.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Hiro said.
"How are we going?"
"Bus I guess. I know one that stops around there," Rio said as the group started walking towards the nearest bus stand. Kagami, who was silent for a while, wondered why the hell he got involved with this troublesome group. He saw Yui skipping happily and rolled his eyes.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"....I have no words except your uncle totally cheated you," Akito said looking the the lump of metal called a car in front of him. Everyone in the group was thinking the same thing and Rio looked ready to burst into tears.
When the group arrived at the abandoned warehouse, they were greeted with a sorry excuse of a car. It looked like it should've been thrown into a junkyard. The roof had a dent on it–who knows how that happened, there was only one window and the engine...well it didn't even start and when they opened the bonnet, the engine was covered in rust. The wheels were punctured too.
Rio's second uncle must be pure evil to give the poor boy false hope. Then again, the group realised that Rio was underage and wouldn't be able to drive it anyway.
"C-Cheer up Rio, I'm sure it can be fixed–"
"Impossible. This is beyond repair." Kagami cut Yui off as he studied the car.
"Well what do we do now?"
It was silent before; "I say we blow it up." Yui smirked evilly. Kagami immediately rejected the idea. "You're joking right? There's no way we're gonna do that."
"Yeah let's blow it up. It'll be fun!" Haruka joined Yui in smirking.
"Oi listen to me!" Kagami shouted.
"But how will we do it?" Akito asked.
"Dammit! Stop ignoring me you bastards!"
"I saw an online tutorial on how to make a bomb," Yui said. Everyone looked at her with surprise. Where the hell would you learn how to make a bomb online? [A/N This is just for comedy and plot purposes. Don't do this at home as it is very illegal.]
"Alright what do we need?" Rio ended up joining in and Hiro just tagged along. Kagami was fuming on the side wishing he never accompanied these lunatics.
After an hour or so, the group had gathered the materials needed and Yui set up the bomb. Once she was done, she attached it to the vehicle and took out a lighter from who knows where and started lighting the pin.
'Is this the day I die?' Kagami thought.
As soon as the pin was lit, the group quickly ran out of the warehouse and gained a bit of distance before waiting.
It was silent before *BOOM*
The warehouse...exploded. It sent a small shockwave that pushed the group back and they covered their eyes. A few moments later, the group saw what was left of the warehouse which just happened to be fallen debris.
"A-Awesome!" Hiro cheered. Everyone joined in except Kagami who swore he saw his life flash before his eyes.
"Yui-chan, that was so badass!" Haruka said hugging the girl.
"I–" Yui wasn't able to respond as the group heard multiple sirens coming their way.
They looked at each other before muttering an 'oh shit' and running away laughing and took the short passage away from that area before piling into a bus that just arrived and heading back home.
Needless to say, it was an interesting day.
The news channels the next day were all covering the mysterious explosion that occurred outside of the city however the culprits were never caught.
Kagami got home completely drained and contemplated blocking Yui on his contact list. After a moment, he decided not too since she was technically a friend though a little crazy in his opinion. Nevertheless, the two continued to chat and soon came the day for the game against Touo Academy.

A/N: Just to be clear, I do not condone blowing things up as a joke (or at all). It is very dangerous as it puts peoples lives on the line and frankly, it's illegal. Therefore, this chapter should not be taken seriously and the blowing up part was just for gag. Please take precaution when dealing with flammable objects.
