"Are you okay?" Kevin asked after practice.

"Why do you keep asking me if I was okay?" I asked back as I wiped the sweat on my face with my towel.

"Come on, I know you are not fine," he answered as he looked at me sideways.

"Don't worry, after I graduate high school, I will leave immediately," I responded.

"That is not the point, Skyler, you don't need to make yourself miserable, she is out there waiting for you to ask her if she could be your girlfriend," he declared, and I chuckled.

"Do you think Selena Castroni was in love with me? That is bullshit, man, she isn't in love with me, she pretended to be; to make me look like a fool, and those longings and stares she gave me were fake. I almost believed her. I am just glad I heard her talking with my brother in the hallway." I responded.

"Well, maybe you didn't hear everything," he replied, and I stopped in my tracks and faced him.
