Isabelle felt cold, literal cold as she walked into the main room of the Pinnacle. You would think she had committed such a massive crime when she in fact had saved these people from bankruptcy and poverty. Perhaps she should just have done so, it was worse because Asher was sitting with them. So she felt completely alone in this situation, her heart was about to jump out of her chest through her mouth and she felt dizzy. 

She hated this part of herself, no matter how much she changed she would always be that person that preferred to avoid conflict and suffer in silence than confront it and be in the center of all that drama. She had tried so hard to become someone else, but she was beginning to understand that you can't change your heart, it has a mind of its own, making its own decisions. The small smiles that came from the daughters-in-law were comforting but her gaze would not stop traveling to Asher.
