And even if the system said that it would stay with him forever, how could Aeryon trust those words?

And that is they don't trust easily. 

Those they trust, they trust them unreservedly. 

But before that trust could be forged, they would not trust anyone that they don't know easily. 

Especially not some entity that they have no knowledge about.
