章 213: Countryside

After a good night's sleep, or, rather, half a day spent snoring, the trio continued on what now became a relatively well kept country road, with no malicious trees shadowing the way. Their journey took them through picturesque Sennite countryside. Essieca, of course, was now being more morbid than ever, and this provided some frighteningly ominous contrast to the beautiful view.

They finally reached the fortress just before sunset.

To think that they had been mere hours away from making it to the Bridge with no sanity casualties was infuriating, but at least the young woman was still completely oblivious to her own condition.

The people guarding the fortress were different men than those Serenica had seen on their last visit.
