''True, but did you know that humans truly began to thrive only 12 thousand years ago? Before then they lived as nomads. They first built temples to praise their gods, then they built castles to protect themselves from the dangers of the outside world, from there they built cities and invented tools to ease their lives. Unlike devils, angels, or gods; humans know that their life is short so they make the most of it in fear of not being remembered. As for these other races they have some of the oldest and wisest beings in existence but they are so drunk on power and the corrosion of time that they find war as some form of entertainment to ease their boredom. Humans aren't perfect but they are resilient and unpredictable that's what makes me refuse to let go of my humanity.'' Kurokiba said sadly as she looked at the orange flames. Her eyes showed her bare feelings, all the confusion, sadness, anger, joy, curiosity and exhaustion was apparent in her eyes, for a moment the air around her changed.
Kuroka felt as if she was looking at someone else for a moment, Kurokiba's eyes told of her experience and it was very apparent no child her age could have such a regal and knowing air around them. For just a second a figure of a wise and old being overlapped with the girl's tiny form.
"It's really strange." Kuroka said as she leaned closer to the fire. She then continued speaking.
"You speak as though you weren't trapped in a facility most of your life, it's as if you've been living amongst humans before." Kuroka commented.
Kurokiba took a deep breath and stared intently at the flames as they crackled and licked the bark that slowly turned to ash. She desperately wanted to lie and say that the people who took her taught her, but she felt something in her gut twist at the thought of lying anymore to her saviour. A sort of disgust with herself.
The truth is she almost went insane to hunger and pain last time, it was an odd feeling, a burning sensation that ran rampant all over her body making her feel weak dazed as time went on. She felt that hiding important information may lead to another accident and this time the situation might not work itself out.
"Truth is I lived twice, in my former life I was a normal male human, and a doctor; in this life I was meant to be a tool that would slaughter thousands of people for the sake of my masters." Kuroka was shocked by the sudden bomb that Kurokiba decided to drop.
Although the situation was odd, somebody remembering their former life was not impossible, it rarely occurred, but she had heard from a few of her connections that some of the stronger beings in the past had fragments of their former life's memories.
Silence reigned the around the flames as the duo opted to say nothing, Kurokiba waited nervously for Kuroka to respond.
"How does it feel to suddenly wake up a girl after living your last life as a boy." Kuroka asked curiously.
Not sure how to reply, Kurokiba stuttered in surprise.
"I uhh, It's really no different from being male. The only difference for me are physical, I still find women appealing, and I'm more flexible and nimble so that's a plus." Kurokiba said honestly.
"I guess we'll see until puberty how your body reacts. You're also quite naughty for staring at me bathing last time." Kuroka said seductively with a blush on her pale cheeks
Kurokiba also blushed shyly as she opted to keep silent since she did sort of take advantage of being a girl.
The two spent the rest of the night making idle talk, as morning came Kuroka trained Kurokiba once again and taught her about the three factions and the world in the evening.

Brief chapter but I hope it helps give an insight to how I'm expressing the characters as I see them.
