章 46: Chapter 46: Elementary level four of the Metal system!

In midair, Lu Jun saw the continuous rock walls trap the demon wolf and immediately realized it was an excellent opportunity.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! He decisively controlled the massive flying sword beneath his feet, diving down like a fighter jet on a death-defying charge. The dark metal heavy sword exuded the beauty of steel's raw power, embodying the ultimate violent aesthetic.

The sword tip pierced through the air, stirring up turbulent gusts and glowing with friction-generated heat.

A sharp screech resounded across the battlefield. All the mages in the area, their hair blown back by the fierce wind, looked up in shock, thinking some flying demon beast was attacking. When they looked up, it was already too late.

The sword descended from the sky!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The twelve-meter-long massive sword struck, plunging straight into the spine of the bone-spurred demon wolf trapped between the overlapping rocks. The terrifying impact shattered its spine, exposing bone fragments and splattering flesh and blood. The once-powerful body turned into a mangled mess.

A young man stood atop the hilt of the black heavy sword embedded in the wolf, towering and solitary amidst the chaos. His coat fluttered in the wind, surrounded by swirling sand and rain. Below him lay piles of wolf corpses, blood flowing in streams and cracks spreading across the ground.

The sight left everyone breathless, an overwhelming shock rippling through their hearts.

"Am I late?"

A clear voice echoed from the mist. The hunters nearby snapped back to reality, realizing they were still on a battlefield. However, the surrounding one-eyed demon wolves had already been temporarily scared away.

Tang Yue, stepping out from the shadows and standing atop a towering tree, muttered to herself while gazing at the figure, "Who is this?"

As the rain gradually dispersed the dust, dozens of mages finally saw the scene clearly and were left dumbfounded.

A giant three-story-high sword stood tall, its tip piercing through the demon wolf's body. Blood and viscera spilled everywhere as its broken spine jutted out.

The young man standing on the sword's hilt calmly leaped down from a height of over ten meters. With his Water Element control, the fall's impact was entirely mitigated, leaving him unscathed. He waved his hand, and the massive sword trembled, slowly withdrawing from the wolf's corpse. It shrank into a regular-sized heavy sword and returned to his hand.

With a calm demeanor, Lu Jun uttered words drenched in cold brutality: "All dealt with."

Hearing this, Tang Yue finally relaxed. She had to admit that the young man before her was not only charming but also reliable. His display of power, instantly killing a Warrior-level beast, greatly inspired the nearby mages.

She sincerely invited him, "Why don't you join the Judgment Court? With your talent, you'll surely become a great mage someday."

In the distance, a graceful figure glided over. It was Lu Mei, Lu Jun's sister, riding the Wind Element. She landed just in time to hear Tang Yue's words, scoffed lightly, and turned to her brother with a smile. "Look at you, showing off already. You're not hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine." Lu Jun dismissed her concern with a wave. He then replied to Tang Yue, "We'll talk about it later. Right now, we need to focus on the demon horde."

"Alright!" The three of them temporarily formed a team and rallied a group of Basic-level mages, pushing forward to sweep through this side of the battlefield.

As for the Warrior-level wolf's corpse, no one paid it much attention for now. The cleanup would be handled after the battle, and military mages would ensure fair distribution of resources.

Unfortunately, Lu Jun didn't obtain a complete Warrior-level soul essence, only a fragment.

He glanced at the blood-soaked battlefield, somewhat regretful. Had he arrived earlier and fully participated, he might have been able to collect enough fragments to synthesize a full soul essence.

Demon soul essences and remnants dissipate quickly after death, and his White Tiger Pendant's absorption range was limited. Ultimately, he needed to kill beasts himself to truly reap the rewards.

Boom! Boom!

Soon, waves of water surged around Lu Jun. With a flick of his hand, tides rose and swept across the mountains and fields. The torrents mixed with mudslides, swallowing fleeing one-eyed demon wolves and drowning them.

Meanwhile, Lu Mei and Tang Yue didn't hold back either. Lu Mei unleashed her Tier 3 Wind Disk: Shredder, summoning massive tornadoes over twenty meters tall. The countless wind blades within the vortex shredded over twenty wolves into pieces.

Tang Yue, fiery and bold, showcased her explosive combat style. Her Tier 3 Fire Element spell, Fiery Fist: Nine Palaces, imbued with her Fire Element Spirit Seed, unleashed destructive power far surpassing Lu Jun and Lu Mei.

The ground shook as massive cracks appeared. Waves of fire spread out, and blazing pillars erupted, incinerating every demon wolf within a hundred-meter radius into ashes.

With the addition of three Intermediate-level mages, including two at their peak, the tide turned. Not only were the demon wolves unable to breach the city defenses, but a counterattack began to take shape.

From an aerial view, the once-overwhelming black tide started to shrink. Under Lu Jun and the others' relentless assault, the side battlefield collapsed, and large numbers of demon wolves perished, clearing a path straight to the horde's core.

At the main outpost, hunter commander Deng Kai observed the situation through binoculars and was stunned. "Who are those people? So formidable!"

"That's Tang Yue from the Judgment Court, along with Hunter Lu Mei and her brother," a subordinate reported.

Deng Kai commanded sternly, "No matter who they are, order all forces to advance! Break through the opening and strike hard!"

As Lu Jun continued his relentless slaughter, the White Tiger Pendant absorbed over a hundred soul remnants. The shimmering blue light coalesced into a complete Servant-level soul essence.

Splitting a fraction of his focus, he guided the soul essence into his spiritual realm—a vast, platinum-colored nebula. Among its 49 glowing stars, six were distinctly larger and more radiant.

When the new soul essence merged with a regular star, one immediately expanded, joining the central cluster. Seven stars now revolved in harmony, releasing a peculiar energy that expanded the nebula's boundaries. This process also nourished the Sword Seal anchoring the nebula, enhancing his primary magical weapon.

A rush of information surged into Lu Jun's mind: Metal Element, Basic Level 4: Vibration!

This was a refinement of the Tier 3 Golden Radiance. Previously, his attacks could penetrate flesh and even bone, but against Warrior-level defenses, they struggled to cause fatal damage. If he failed to land a decisive blow in close combat, he'd face lethal counterattacks.

With Vibration, his strikes gained a unique oscillation effect. Each slash now carried a repelling force, powerful enough to knock even Commander-level beasts backward.

When combined with his Water Element's triple defense cycle, his combat strategy became almost flawless.

Beyond that, Lu Jun sensed he was close to advancing to Intermediate Level 2 in the Metal Element.
