As they started walking back, Amber caught sight of Hans and his gang's retreating figures. Raising her brows she looked at Ashton's back and she could only shake her head.
People started whispering with each other as the four of them walked inside the building.
Seeing even the look of jealousy they throw at her, instead of ignoring them Amber looked at them straight in the eyes and lifted her chin. Her actions were smug and as if she was asking them, 'Come on, getting jealous? Why don't you try and join us as well?'
The ladies could only grit their teeth in envy and hatred towards her. Amber sneered after seeing their reaction when another hand patted her on the head.
"Stop making more enemies will you?" Blake couldn't help but say.
They obviously knew what those ladies are thinking and they saw how Amber irritated them even more.
Currently the three of them are two years older than her and even though Ashton was her fiance, each of them are treating her like a younger sister instead.
Amber stuck her tongue out, "They have the energy to get jealous but all they can do is stare. If they have the capabilities then why don't they approach you."
"Don't answer that," she then interrupted as Blake opened his mouth.
"It is because you three have this air around you that tells them not to approach you."
"For Ashton, he had a cold aura surrounding him. That even though they admire him, they were also scared of him."
"For Devon, he was always quiet and looking serious, even if others approach him. Some wouldn't even be able to have proper conversations with him."
"And for you, you are layed back and loves to play around but there is still a thin wall separating you from those who you are talking to."
"If they can't overcome all those, then they have no right to act all jealous or even envy me."
She spoke of it as if it was nothing but to the other three this was a great shock. Most of the people who pointed this out were ones who they are very close to.
Or those whom they spent years with but Amber pointed it out and she was just with them for a good few months.
They even barely interacted for when they arrive at Ashton's office, it was either she was not there or that she was busy with her duty regarding the security of the database of the school.
The two of them admire her for her seriousness regarding this matter. When she spoke of it, she was nonchalant as if the security was but a pass time for her.
But whenever she sits in front of her laptop and she started with her job, there would be a little bubble around her that no one could get into unless she leaves her state of focusing on the program.
Yet despite all of this she was able to tell their characteristics, with that little interactions they have.
"Don't look at me like I am some kind of an alien," she then retorted upon seeing the look the other two gave her.
Ashton was shock but he didn't give much focus on it. He only knew that she was indeed different.
Not long after they are already out, they were planning to have dinner as their celebration but the time was still quite early for that.
Just as they were discussing where to spend time, Amber's eyes caught sight of a particular building.
"There," she happily said to them as she pointed at the building.
"Why would you want to go there?" Blake couldn't help but ask, even Devon and Ashton looked at her with furrowed brows.
"That's also a place where you can vent out you know, please?" she even looked at them pitifully.
They felt like hitting her somehow, she knew how to use her assets well. With how she look anyone would want to abide whatever she wants.
"Are you a white lotus?"
"No, but I'm trying to use whatever I can in order to get what I want," she grinned.
The car was already stopped by the side of the road.
"Other ladies would have hidden it why are you saying it out in the open?" Devon asked as he shakes his head.
"That's them, this is me. I'd rather not act like a goody two shoes, it would be a tiring thing to do. If I can use it then I will use it, if I can't then I won't."
They no longer commented, they can only give in to her. Sometimes she was a mature lady but sometimes she was a kid. The other two then remembered how Ashton once asked her if she has switches inside her.
She really can change her actions the way she wanted like it was nothing. It was as easy as flipping a switch, one moment she was serious, another moment she was playing around and another moment she was silent.
As they entered the building, obviously they caught the attention of those who are already inside. Most of the time when people their age would want to play they would go to arcades or karaoke.
But the four of them actually went to a shooting range.
This place were only off limits to kids below fifteen years old. So it was not difficult for them to come in. There would only be instructors coming with them if they were below 20 years old.
What baffled those inside more was the fact that it was the lady with them who were obviously more excited compared to the guys she was with.
"Can you do this?" Blake asked as they walked towards the shooting location.
"Watch and learn," she replied with a smile.
Ashton who was silent all this time was just watching her as something else run through his mind. Something he noticed in her room at the hotel.
Then the thought about the kidnapping. She was only hindered back then by the fact that the side effect suddenly kicked in, but her confidence to herself was visibly there.
The instructor was ready to instruct her the moment she stood in place, but before he could speak she already made her first shot.
Her posture and the way she held the gun was right on the spot. Not just the instructor but even Ashton and the others were shock. She repeatedly pulled the trigger.
The playful one a while ago was suddenly gone, right in front of them felt like someone they didn't know. Her face was so serious and the way she shoot, she looks like she was venting out something.
As if what she was looking at was not a target board but instead a person she wanted to kill. Even the aura around her have somehow changed.
The instructor could only step back seeing as she really didn't need him at all.
"Have you been to other shooting ranges before?" he couldn't help but ask the other three.
They too were speechless as they could only shake their head.
"The young miss seemed like she was well acquainted with the gun though," he added as they watch Amber pulling the trigger over and over again.
Soon all her bullets were gone, the shooting target was then pulled in. It has a distance of 20 meters and the target was a medium size one.
They were once again in silence when the target was pulled in, for there were only a huge whole in the middle, where the bullseye should have been.
This only meant one thing, she had shot all those 30 shots in the bullseye region. Repeatedly shooting through it that it only left a hole.
"Amber?" Devon was the one who tried to talk to her this time.
That's when Amber seemed to have snapped out of her own thoughts. She looked back at them with a grin.
"What do you think?"
"I think I would never want to have a bet with you when it comes to shooting," Blake raised both his hands as if surrendering.
"I say young lady, you must be a natural. You seemed to be good friends with the gun," the instructor commented as he look at the target once again.
Even he as the instructor didn't have this much capability, at most 20 of the 30 shots would hit the bullseye. But this young lady in front of him had hit everything right there without pause.
"No, sir, I guess this is just my lucky day. I just felt like venting out so I asked my brothers to bring me here. Who would have thought I would actually be able to hit with such precision?" Amber replied politely.
The instructor just smiled, he knew she was just being humble. He won't forget how she suddenly changed into a different person the moment she held the gun and stood in position.
It was as if, no one else was there and all she can see was the target.
