章 140: Perhaps In Another Microcosm

Listening to his best friend, Tamiko felt pride and sadness gush over him with equal measure. He wasn't sure what Danny was aiming for at the moment, but the sincerity of the emotions in his voice made Tamiko want to lean into the hope that they were fine. 

Granted, Tamiko was sure nothing would ever be the same between them because he had killed Dalya and their father, but he hoped that all would be well. 

It was a leap of fate and not even faith, because sometimes even faith took a step back to let fate do its thing. Tamiko wanted to pull Danny into a hug, but he couldn't. 

He wanted to hold onto Danny but he also couldn't because there was no telling where they stood with each other. Was it hate? Or still, love? Was Danny's defense of him something he was pretending about or was it genuine? 

Oh, how Tamiko had so many questions, even as Kosta stood aside to let the two talk.
