43.42% Vampire Mafia Princess - Tales of Nocturnia / Chapter 66: Justice

章 66: Justice

Lyra, Lilith, and Clara walked out of the dining hall, their minds still reeling from the events of the day. As they made their way back to the dorms, Lyra turned to Lilith, her expression filled with a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Lilith," she said, her voice low and serious. "What do you know about the vampire mafias? I mean, you're a Sanguine. Surely you must have some insight into how they operate."

Lilith sighed, her face darkening with a touch of fear and resignation. "Honestly, Lyra, I've always tried to stay out of that stuff. The mafias are dangerous, and getting involved with them is a surefire way to get yourself hurt... or worse."

She placed a hand on Lyra's shoulder, her eyes filled with a sisterly concern. "And I really think you should stay out of it too, Lyra. I know you're curious, and I know you have your reasons for wanting to know more. But trust me, it's not worth the risk."

Lyra nodded, her expression thoughtful as she considered Lilith's words. She knew that her friend was right, that getting mixed up with the vampire mafias was a dangerous game. But at the same time, she couldn't shake the feeling that she needed to know more, that she needed to understand the forces that had taken her parents from her.

As they reached the entrance to the dorms, Clara excused herself, a slight blush coloring her cheeks. "I promised my boyfriend I would meet up with him tonight," she said, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. "But I'll see you both in class tomorrow, okay?"

Lyra and Lilith nodded, waving goodbye to their friend as she hurried off into the night. Then, with a final hug and a promise to be careful, the two girls parted ways, each heading to their own rooms to contemplate the events of the day.

Once inside her dorm, Lyra flopped down on her bed, her mind racing with a thousand different thoughts and emotions. She couldn't stop thinking about her parents, about the vampires who had taken them from her. And even though she knew that not all vampires were evil, that there were good ones out there like Lilith, she couldn't shake the anger and the pain that burned inside of her like a raging inferno.

As she lay there, staring up at the ceiling, her eyes fell on the resistance brochure that Elias had given her a few days earlier. She reached for it, her fingers trembling slightly as she flipped through the pages.

Inside, she found a schedule of upcoming meetings, each one focused on a different aspect of the fight against the vampires. There were discussions on essence techniques, on the history of the Sanguine clans, on the latest intelligence gathered by the resistance's network of spies and informants.

Lyra felt a surge of excitement and determination as she read through the list, her mind already racing with the possibilities. She knew that attending one of these meetings would be a risk, that it would mean putting herself in the crosshairs of some of the most dangerous beings in Nocturia.

But at the same time, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was something she needed to do. Not just for herself, but for her parents, for all the innocent lives that had been lost to the vampires' thirst for power and control.

With a deep breath and a heart full of resolve, Lyra made her decision. She would attend the next resistance meeting, would learn everything she could about the vampire mafias and the forces that threatened her world. And no matter what challenges lay ahead, no matter how dangerous the path might become, she knew that she would never stop fighting for what was right.
