Adeu stumbled back, removing his hands from the glowing white circle and gasping for breath. "What the hell was that?" he muttered to himself.

He had just witnessed the intense, heroic actions and sacrifices of the Zeten during the blessings ceremony.

Would he be able to do the same? Would he survive? Adeu was shaking. He hadn't expected the blessings ceremony to be so harsh.

Looking around, he saw thousands of students waking up beside him, all looking as shocked and confused as he felt.

Some students appeared scared and puzzled, while others were arrogantly smiling and talking about how much control the gods still had over humans.

It seemed some of them knew what the blessings ceremony entailed, but Adeu felt uneasy. How could the gods be so cruel?
