Nely stopped the ship abruptly, causing the wooden vessel to creak under the sudden change in momentum.
The group gathered on the deck, their eyes fixed on the horizon. A thick, red mist swirled ominously, obscuring everything beyond a few hundred feet.
But what truly sent a chill down their spines were the hundreds of massive monsters standing at the edge of the mist.
Some were partially hidden within it, their silhouettes barely visible, while others stood on the water's surface. They weren't attacking, just waiting.
Nely's grip on the ship's railing tightened as she glanced at Hazel. "Is this the only way?" Hazel nodded, her face pale.
"Damn it!" Nely hissed, frustration boiling over. She looked back at the monstrous horde, her mind racing for a solution.
Atlas let out a long sigh, his gaze locked on the sea of enemies. "I could use my birds to attack, but there are too many of them. If we charge in blindly, we'll just die."
