章 49: Chapter 49: A Foreboding Vision

After the rain, the sun shines brilliantly. I scamper to Jalokivi on a mission. In order to show my appreciation for Laulu, a gift would be the perfect gesture. 'Thank you Jarkeva!' I feel positive about the idea, but I am unsure as to what to give. As swift as my merry feet can carry me, I reach towards the north of Jalokivi.

Here rests a street lined with shops. Unlike the one by the city's center, this location has more pricey goods. The artisans of this busy district have access to better storage of their products than those in an open market. My gaze darts across the signs above the various doors.

As I walk down the street, a glittering light catches my eyes. I approach a glass pane. Behind the window are jewelry pieces on display. I whistle. 'What a lovely haul!' I smile. I hear laughter beside me. A Mystikka couple dressed in lavish robes enter the shop. I return my gaze towards the jewelry. 'Can I even afford this?' I sigh in defeat.
