章 75: A CEO Love: Aftermath
That night Chris didn't make love to me. I am taking in all the information last night and slowly digesting it. Not easy but I need to. He is after all my wedded husband now.
He put forth an envelope to me after we sent Charlotte to the childcare and asked if I am interested to write another piece of breaking news. I took the envelope and studied the content, it also came with a USB drive. It is a record of illegal activities of Deputy Director Koo of Southport and its proofs.
Chris explained,"The same record was send to a few major news outlet last night except Diamond. I thought you would like to do it."
Angela whose mind reel at the information in front of her suddenly jumped up from her seat,"You gave these to other newspaper last night?!"
Chris nodded.
"Why do I only get this now?! I am your wife! Don't I get privilege by marrying a Tan?! What were you thinking?! I won't be able to put it in this morning news like the others," her eyes was spitting fire at Chris.
Chris never thought her reaction to be over excited and then angry. He thought she will need time to adjust to the fact that she has married him without actually knowing his identity.
Chris suggest innocently,"Do you want me to stop the other news?"
Angela glared angrily at him,"That's not the point! Urgh! I need to go back to the office now."
Chris sent her to Diamond News and texted Xavier "Done".
Angela has to called Alice to take care of Charlotte for the night. She can't afford to lose more time. The other two major newspaper and the local newspaper of City Y has already put the juicy facts up and everybody is talking about it. The good thing was none talk about a little detail than concerns a public airport built with insufficient material when the deputy director was still a government official of Ministry of Urban Planning in the west. Although it is not as attention seeking as a list of corrupted actions, Angela has magnify the danger and potential disruption of transportation, business and national security of the west. This is one of Country Y main airport today and the government should placed their full attention to avoid aviation accidents.

Angela is really exhausted by the time she got home but fear crept up her when she didn't see Chris in the living room and kitchen or their bedroom. Did he left because she didn't show any acceptance to his kind of work? He just walk out on us like this? Absentmindedly, she tiptoed to open the door in silence to check on Charlotte. There she saw Chris, all 190cm of him squeeze into Charlotte little bed with the exception of his hand and legs hanging outside touching the floor. The little girl must have been difficult to go to sleep without her and so the little one end up sleeping on top of Chris instead. Angela crept in and removed the story book in his hand on the floor.
She look at the scene in front of her. Her doubts clears away. Her conscience is clear, this man is the same, kind and warm person she knew albeit possessive. He loves them as much as they love him. She even like his possessiveness. She kisses both of them and went out to cook herself a quick noodle.
A warm body was pressed on her back and a kiss landed on her neck while she was still eating and reading the local news.
Chris finally feel a stone has been lifted off his chest as Angela smile up at him. He poured two glasses of wine and waited for Angela to finish her meal.
"So...."Angela started,"Which Tan are you?"
Chris was dumbfounded,"I thought you knew?"
"Knew what?" Angela asked.
"Chris Tan, 34 years old, the CEO of T Comm and Security, husband to Angela Xi and father to Charlotte Tan,"Chris spelled out his biodata.
"I thought you were a secret agent?" Angela asked suspiciously.
"I still am. Angela, Xavier is the good guy, not me. There are moments where I need to do dirty works, sometime for the government, sometime for international organization and sometime for underground network. Although most underground are covered by Frankie, I am involved, Angela. "Chris sound almost pleading.
"Will you accept me as who I am, what I do? Are you scare of me, sweet?" Chris asked seriously.
Angela hold Chris face in between her hands,"No Chris, I am not scared. You have shown me how tender and gentle you are. You have also shown me how violent and possessive you are. I know for a fact that you won't hurt Charlotte or me no matter what you do. I love you Chris."
Chris kiss Angela deeply murmuring,"I love you too."
"Daddy....?"Charlotte called.
Both parents sighed and laughed.
