章 5: ~Chapter 4~ "Friends"
'It's been two weeks since I'm friends with him.. AND HE WOULDN'T STOP FOLLOWING ME!
ヽ('д´;)/" As she couldn't understand why she was being followed.
I asked him why can't he stop following me; He said, "Friends hang out all the time and must stick together at all costs!" He smiled warmly as if it didn't annoy me enough.
While I'm waiting in the school gate, I sit on the bench and take out my sketchbook and draw. Someone sits beside me all of a sudden, of course who would sit beside me other than.. Kairo.
He leans closer to me he then asks; "Do you wanna meet my friends? I'm sure they'll like you!" I pause, with a drawn line, I look at him saying, "Nobody likes me." Resuming my unfinished drawing, trying to calm and collected, from the silence I can finally continue my drawing in peace...
Until the silence of peace broke out. "But I like you! And they will! My friend knows someone who can draw!! I'm sure you'll get along with her." He says with such confidence and there is no way, I would get along with people.
I frown, closing my sketchbook, keeping my materials in an order and I silently pack my things. "Not everyone likes me and I don't like everyone or anyone. I don't care if I just have 1 friend there is no need for me to make another." Standing up and ignoring his words and gave it no single thought, as soon I was about to walk away, he uttered
"Do you not like me?" I turn to him and reply "If all those rumors are true, which it is, would you still like me? And accept me as your friend?" After moments of silence 'You're all the same.' I turned around and heading the directions I was supposed to be heading, walking away feeling guilt as if it would swallow me.
'I admit, I do have trust issues but it can't be helped.. This is who I am, his friends won't even like me, I'm sure of it. No matter how hard I try, I still get hurt, misunderstood, I was like a laughingstock, It really truly hurt. I try too hard to please people but I ended up lying and getting misunderstood just because of it. I get guilty for it.. I get guilty because it's pitiful.. I pity some people.. I still feel pity eve for those affections were fake... It's natural to feel that way.'
As soon as Scarlet went home, her mom ask:
"How was school?"
Scarlet: "Mom..... Why is everything so complicated.. Why do I need friends..?" Explaining what she went through these past few days and two weeks..
Mrs. Swan: Patting her head "Even though we work better alone.. It's best that you have people by your side. I know that you're struggling to have friends.. I know you were trying.. I'm sure that there will be a time that you'll have a friend that will look after you, trust you, care for you.. And those past experiences.. "
Scarlet: "But mom.. " She smiles gently at her stubborn and precious daughter "Why would people wants to be friends with a liar... "
Mrs. Swan: "You're not a liar.. You're just misunderstood. You were friends with the wrong crowd, they were bullies. I like Kairo, he seems to genuinely care about you. I'm worried.. You might or you already push people away because of it.. You would even look at your sisters from afar just to avoid them.. You think that they might end up getting bullied.. You're a responsible, mature and independent kid. You should learn to rely on others.. So you'll lean onto them." Her worry some look says it all.
"You should consider my advice, Not all people are bad, Not all people are good either. So why not give it a shot. He'll surely accept you whoever you are, while you are still young.. It's okay. To be that way." I gave it some thought before heading to bed and.. 'I'll go ahead and give it a shot!' Scarlet seems to be determined, with her eyes sparkling and her chubby cheeks forming a gentle smile on her face.
Alas she finally shut her eyes slowly, time could stop for moment like everything froze except the lighting that shines through her circular window, with dark brown smooth texture of wood, the clear window that can shine throughout her room, the warm sun, gave her a greeting.
She slowly opens her black dolly eyes, rubbing her eyes with her smooth gentle fair skin, she gets up and stretches 'I can do this!!!' She smiles with confidence that almost seemed like a grin, with her hands on her waist. (≡^∇^≡)
'I spoke too SOON...!!!' As Scarlet goes to school and every time she sees him, she tends to avoid him 'I thought.. I was ready for this... WHY IS THIS SO HARDDD!! It's so complicated.. Hmph... Should I just not have friends? *slaps herself* Mommy made it clear!! Thus.. He's not a bad person... ' She looks at Kairo his dark brown hair, hazel eyes complements everything about his personality.. Then Kairo turns to glance at her due to the fact that he had a feeling someone has been staring at him.. And he was right, he look at her just a few seconds and turn away after.
'OH NO, WHY IS SHE LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!!' With a menacing aura 'I SHOULDN'T HAVE PROVOKED HER T__T' Kairo seemed to misunderstood the situation..
'He's definitely.. Mad at me.. I shouldn't have riled up and lashed out on him like that... I'm sorry.. Mom... ಥ_ಥ' And so did Scarlet...
The two continue to avoid each other, they may exchange glances but.. They turn their head quickly as soon they noticed each other
Right after.. That.. They both sit beside each other in their classes but they haven't spoken to single word to each other not until..
"..I'm...sorry!! ( -̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥᷄◞ω◟-̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥᷅ ) " They both say it in unison

The moments of silence..
(◉Θ◉) They look at each other.. "Pft." And burst out laughter
After that conversation, She told him how she felt and decided, "I'll try to get along with your friends" He smiled excitedly
Right after school, Kairo happily introduced her to his friends, his friends seems happy but except for one friend..
