After the men's order of disembarking was determined, the women would choose at which stop to get off.

Since the sequence the men would leave was not disclosed, the women's choice was essentially random as well.

Whoever ended up with the ghost was likely doomed.

The men drew lots according to their rank; those of the same rank would roll dice to determine their order, so the sequence was easy to fix.

Li Teng drew the lot to disembark at the first stop.

If the Ghost Sign was with one of the other three men, he would be safe.

But if the Ghost Sign was among the four women and that particular woman chose to disembark at the same stop, he would have no choice but to leave with the ghost and then run into it in the narrow confines of the station.
