"Ah, shit that hurts!" Amaya groaned, her emerald eyes red with pain as the medicine man attended to her injury.
"Endure just a little bit more, Amaya," he said soothingly. "The venom has spread, but don't worry, it's almost out. Thank goodness you came to me on time."
The medicine man's chamber was dimly lit, with shelves lined with ancient tomes and strange artifacts. A faint scent of sandalwood and myrrh, and some natural herbs filled the air.
The medicine man worked in silence for a moment before speaking again. "But then, you have lots of explanations. Why were you stabbed with a poisoned dagger?"
"It's a long story, Uncle Brunei. Just do what you need to do, geez." Mya hissed, wincing in pain as she tried to shift her position on the makeshift bed. Her emerald eyes flashed with anger and frustration, but her uncle's stern expression only made her more defiant.
