章 31: Leticia loves me

Leticia bit her lips, her mind racing with anger now. Quynn must have told him, she thought, her eyes narrowing. How could he, after he had promised to keep her secret? Ugh.

"Nothing ever happens here with my knowledge, Leticia dear." He smiled before it faded and she sighed, deciding not to deny it anymore.

"I'm sorry, Devon," she said, her voice trembling. "I was just scared you'll hurt him. I'm so sorry." She looked down, her eyes welling up with tears.

Devon stared at her, his eyes piercing through her soul.' So, someone was here', he thought. Must have been Manuel. He'd been keeping a close watch on that guy and he had a feeling Manuel was planning on coming.

Of course, Quynn hadn't told him anything, but the speed of Leticia's heart told him a lot. It just takes a bit of effort to bring the truth out of her. She has a lot to learn.
