章 15: Choices

Rachel's POV

His phone started ringing in that instant and he cursed, hauling himself off the bed. I tried to hold in a laugh especially as he grunted while making his way out of my room.

"It's time to make breakfast," I murmured to the quiet space and lifted my weight to a standing position. Running my fingers in my curls, I swallowed the coffee he brought, grimacing at the bitter taste.

"I need to teach him how I like my coffee," I mused and picked up the tray. Exiting the room I  called at his door, "French toast with coffee is good for breakfast right?"

"Yes," he answered. "Make mine black."

"You don't need to tell me," I blurted and made my way across the living room to the kitchen. Despite being married for about a week I insisted staying in separate rooms for the time being after moving in. I needed time to get adjusted to his presence and my new situation.
