"Jael," she whispered.
"Hello Mauve," as he spoke he raised his hand and tucked her hair behind her ears. "They said you wouldn't wake up, no matter what they did."
Her eyes bulged some more as though the fact that he responded meant this wasn't a dream.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, her shocked expression didn't change.
He pulled his hand away from her face as if she burnt him. "That's not the response I was expecting," he said with a frown.
The familiar brows dip was soothing, Mauve fought the urge to try to straighten the folds.
"Well, Louis said you couldn't come because you had important business to attend to."
She looked down as she spoke. Why was he sitting so close to her? If she leaned forward even a little, her head would fall onto his chest.
"You don't seem happy to see me," he said.
Mauve jerked her head upward to look at his face again. The sound of his voice tugged at her chest.
