章 134: The Lost

The room was engulfed in a heavy silence.

Since Duchess Eliza had arrived to discuss something urgent with Jeremiah, she left soon after making sure Nesrin was as good as she could be. Her words have unsettled the already dreary air.

Nesrin didn't seem to be claimed by sorrow, there was no anger either, and all that remained was a strange emptiness that hurt more than she could have imagined. 

Why would Izekiel go to such lengths when he hated her?

She had read the novel from her heart and knew that he was not capable of doing such a thing. He shouldn't be, but-Nesrin clenched her fists tight and her blank eyes reflected some of her pain. She felt ignorant and stupid, how could she not see him for he was?

As if the mist has gradually risen from her mind she remembered those fragments of the past, when he had been so gentle with her. He was willing to even risk his own life when Nesrin hid his truth and accepted the punishment.
