The temperature in the castle chilled Aaron's bones almost as fast as his own ice did, as he walked through the long, narrow, hallways. Following Prince Edward, he was unsure of where he was being lead to. Admitting he was nervous wasn't something he was used to doing, so as careful as he could be, he managed to keep Edward from suspecting anything. The last thing he wanted was Edward to think he was weak. The last thing he wanted was to seem weak and powerless. Learning the tiny factor that Edward is a cold, warm, hybrid had come has a surprise to him. Having been he'd never seen or met Edward or Alice before? So how could the news have gotten to him. The hallways seemed to grow shorter and shorter the more they walked. Aaron brought it forward, to try and remember every bit and single detail of every hall they passed, just as a security method in case things got wild.
As it would seem, he couldn't seem to get his mind at peace. He continued seeing the recent memory of his fight with Zane, and his somewhat disagreement with Lucifer, that caused him to get brunt. He was angry with himself, more or less angry with his powers. How could his ice had melted so quickly again! A second time! There was no understanding it. He'd never had a problem with his abilities before, his father, hadn't written down anything in his journals, so the information gathered so easily wouldn't just come into his hands. He was tense the entire way, he hadn't even noticed that Edward had stopped, ahead of him. The beat of his cold eyes sharpening, as he stared at him past his shoulder.
''The portal is in there.'' Edward turned around completely, his eyes pressing against Aaron's from across the hall. Aaron swallowed the tightness that formed in his throat, and lightly cleared his mind. Here was his chance. His one and only chance to rescue Alec from whatever torture his false memories had given him.
Aaron couldn't make himself believe. The tortured false memories could have on a person. Since there hadn't been any chance in his life, where he had false memories planted into his head, he couldn't help himself but try to imagine.
''Hey? Did you hear me?'' Edward groaned as he approached Aaron. Seeming to be distracted, Edward held his hand out to poke him, but was startled backward, when Aaron suddenly reappeared to reality. Edward, who's fire wings had completely disappeared from the coolness of Aaron's startled ice mist, reappeared seconds later, as Edward flashed Aaron with a rather unlikable expression.
''Do you always do that, when your nervous?''
''Not always. Not since my father left...him leaving kind of messed me up....that might explain a few things.'' Aaron puzzled at the thought, but moved it aside when he saw how uninterested Edward was, in his mental health. So rolling his eyes as the two set foot inside the small room, that held the portal to Earth, he growled something under his breath before the door closed behind them, Unaware to him that the portal would be super bright, Aaron was immediately blinded. He turned his attention to the wall behind him, as the still blue light of the portal shadowed over the top of his head. Ending at his forehead, before he turned to look at something else. Edward on the other hand, didn't have to look away. His eyes were completely fine.
''Bastard..'' Aaron whispered, hissing angrily under his breath, as he shielded his face with the back of his hand. He could feel the anger deep inside him slowly being put out, as he caught a small glimpse of Edward. His clear unfazed expression, made him feel better...he felt himself getting comfortable, before he could no longer make out Edward's recent expression. He'd left him. He'd gone through the portal.
''Bastard!'' Aaron without hesitation, flew himself towards the portal, the blue light blinding him again, as he moved his hand away, leaving himself open to the light. Before he could process things, he was suddenly in the middle of a green field. The field was small, a small patch in the middle of a square, filled with tiny colorful flowers. He was on his knees, his clothing covered in some dirt and mud as he rose to his feet. Taking in his new surroundings, the air smelled sweet, and the feeling of the warm shining sun shone down beneath him. A crack of a tiny smile formed on his face, as the beautiful surroundings burned into his memory.
He'd made it to Earth.
This was Earth.
