章 4: Chapter 4: The Miracle of Reversing Time

Senju Hashirama and Hoshino Yota conversed for a long time, both praising each other profusely.

However, Senju Tobirama remained silent throughout, quietly observing their exchange.

Though Yota was receiving countless compliments, he wasn't naive and clearly understood the underlying intentions behind them. Nevertheless, he still had reservations, and his expression showed hesitation.

Just as he was deep in thought, a shadowy figure flashed past, kneeling on one knee and announcing, "Hokage-sama, Hoshino Kazen has woken up."

Hashirama waved his hand dismissively and nodded, "Got it."

Upon hearing this, the shadowy figure swiftly departed, as if they had never been there.

Yota knew that this message was not only meant for the Hokage but also for him. However, there was one thing he remained doubtful about. Based on what he knew, the Hokage was a straightforward person who disdained such covert tactics.

Yota's gaze shifted slightly, casting a subtle glance at Senju Tobirama, and in that moment, he understood. Keeping his expression neutral, Yota said calmly, "Hokage-sama, I have a small request."

"Oh? Go ahead, speak freely," Hashirama responded kindly.

"My son always speaks of Hokage-sama with great admiration. He hopes to meet you in person someday."

A brief silence fell over the room.

After a few seconds, Hashirama coughed awkwardly and said, "In that case, how about today?"

"Thank you, Hokage-sama." Yota expressed his gratitude before turning and heading toward the hospital.

Once Yota was out of sight, Hashirama slumped lazily in his chair, shedding all the dignity one would expect from the God of Shinobi.

"I'm exhausted. Tobirama, this sort of thing suits you better. I won't be doing this again."

Tobirama responded without a hint of agreement, his gaze following the departing figure of Yota. "It seems he doesn't trust the village."

Hashirama frowned and rebuked, "What are you talking about? A father loves his child—it's only natural."

Clearly, he strongly disagreed with Tobirama's statement. A father's love for his child is an inherent part of human nature. Even a vicious tiger doesn't harm its cubs—how could a person?

To Hashirama, such concerns had nothing to do with trust.

Tobirama glanced at his older brother but ultimately said nothing more, shifting the conversation instead.

"In recent years, the village's population has surged, and space is becoming insufficient."

Hashirama waved his hand nonchalantly. "Then expand the village. There's plenty of unused land around."

Tobirama's eye twitched at his brother's carefree words. Of course, it's easy for you to say that when you're not the one doing the work!

Suppressing his irritation, he silently reminded himself: this is my brother, my real brother.

"Hmph," he finally sighed, taking a deep breath to calm himself. "Don't forget what we agreed on."

About half a cup of tea's time later, there was a knock at the door. After being granted permission, Yota entered with his son, Hoshino Kazen.

"Hokage-sama, this is my son," Yota introduced him.

Hashirama's eyes swept over the boy, and he was momentarily stunned. From his perception, Kazen already had the chakra levels of a Chūnin.

He's only five years old, yet he possesses this much chakra? That's incredible. Still, it doesn't compare to me, Hashirama thought.

The gaze was mutual. Kazen, too, was sizing up the Hokage, and within his heart, a great wave was rising. In Kazen's eyes, Hashirama's presence was overwhelming, like a blazing sun towering over the earth, reaching the heavens.

So this is the weight of the God of Shinobi? Such an imposing aura!

The moment of awe quickly passed, and after a brief glance, Kazen composed himself and respectfully bowed.

"Hello, Hokage-sama. My name is Hoshino Kazen."

"Hello... little one," Hashirama responded after a brief pause, then smiled.

For some reason, all the words Hashirama had prepared vanished the moment he saw Kazen, leaving him speechless. Any feelings of guilt he'd had dissipated instantly.

Tobirama, watching from the side, couldn't bear to look anymore. His eye twitched repeatedly, and he let out a deep sigh.

I shouldn't have let big brother handle this—he's too soft-hearted.

"Rumor has it that you've awakened a kekkei genkai. Do you know what abilities you possess?" Hashirama asked, his curiosity overriding any serious demeanor. All the advice he'd been given had completely slipped his mind.

Kazen smiled shyly, sensing the childlike nature of the First Hokage. He didn't intend to hide anything. Talents should be displayed to allow them to fully develop. Instead of concealing his abilities, it was better to attract the attention of the higher-ups. The current Konoha was a great stage where he could showcase his skills.

"I do. I seem to be able to control time."

His words were shocking, and despite Kazen's innocent voice, everyone present gasped in disbelief.

Even Tobirama, usually strict and composed, was visibly shaken.

Time manipulation! The Shinobi World wasn't unfamiliar with space-time jutsu—Flying Thunder God Technique was a prime example, a space-time jutsu that enabled instant teleportation by marking seals. But Tobirama knew well that even his jutsu was like a drop in the ocean compared to controlling time itself.

If one could control time, wouldn't that mean they could reverse life and death?

Tobirama, being a master of forbidden jutsu, immediately grasped the profound implications of such power.

"Little one, are you certain?" Hashirama's tone shifted to a more serious one, his previously gentle demeanor replaced with gravity.

If what Kazen said was true, it would be a great blessing for Konoha.

Without hesitation, Kazen scanned the room, and his gaze settled on a small potted plant on the desk. It was winter, and the once-vibrant leaves had fallen.

Kazen stepped forward, touching the plant with his hand. A gleam flashed in his bright blue eyes. Under the watchful eyes of the others, a small patch of green appeared in their vision.

It was as if winter had passed and spring had come. Time itself… had been reversed!

"It's true... he can control time!" Tobirama muttered, his eyes wide in astonishment.

"Hahaha! Wonderful! Marvelous!" Hashirama burst into joyful laughter. Such a kekkei genkai emerging in Konoha was a cause for great celebration.

After the initial shock, Tobirama quickly composed himself. In a flash, he appeared in front of Kazen.

"Little one, would you like to become my apprentice?"

His eyes gleamed with enthusiasm, eager to take the boy under his wing.

A kekkei genkai that controls time—there had never been anything like it in the Shinobi World. Kazen's potential was far greater than anyone could have anticipated.

And that wasn't the only thing Tobirama noticed. In his haste earlier, he hadn't had time to assess the boy's chakra levels properly. But now that he was calmer, he realized that this five-year-old had the chakra reserves of an elite Chūnin. And he was only going to grow stronger.

Tobirama's fiery gaze locked onto Kazen, as though he were staring at an uncut gem.

Before Kazen could respond, Hashirama interrupted, shouting, "Tobirama, I'm still here, you know?"

Without turning around, Tobirama replied, "Big brother, we can talk later. I'm busy right now."

Hashirama couldn't help but laugh at Tobirama's blatant disregard. But talented individuals were rare, and finding one with such extraordinary potential was even rarer. He couldn't help but feel tempted himself.

Kazen's heart surged with excitement, his eyes shining brightly, and he almost blurted out his agreement. After all, this was Senju Hashirama, Konoha's greatest pillar of support, the First Hokage himself. Becoming his apprentice would practically guarantee a bright future, giving him unparalleled status in the village.

Seeing Kazen's expression, Tobirama sighed in resignation. There was no need to ask—he had missed his chance.

Hashirama, on the other hand, grinned triumphantly, looking as pleased as a rooster that had just won a fight.
