{Amari Pov}
"You seriously fucked up this time, sis." Kitsuna replied, glaring at me.
"I know, but you did not need to go this far." I whined in pain while sitting on the floor with numb legs and hands.
"I don't think you understand how badly you messed up, Amari. I'm not going to just let this go, but that's not the main problem here." Kitsuna clarified her point by shaking her head at me.
"What is it, and why does she want to get revenge? It was an accident." I exclaimed, confused.
"Would you say the same thing if you killed her?" Kitsuna's question caused me to turn away, as I was filled with shame.
"…"
"Yes, please stop arguing and tell me what you think. You said Zagan was stronger than before, but in my eyes, he is even weaker than before I left. How did you come to that conclusion?" She said she was glaring down at me.
"He is stronger. His stats had more than doubled over the last few months. I don't know why he acted like this today." I looked down at my hands, frustrated.
"Haah, I don't care if he claims that his stats are significantly stronger; they just mean that much. Even if he has the highest stats in the world, if he doesn't know how to use them, a fucking baby can still kill him."
"I don't believe a baby could do that." I raised an eyebrow in response to her statement.
"Amari!"
"Figure of speech, I know, but that's way too far to fetch Kitsuna." I said so, waving her off.
"No, really, Amari, if a baby Griffin is born, it possesses base stats that can easily kill adults." She explained, making me nod in understanding.
"Right, that's true."
"Sigh, explain to me how you two were training the last few months." Shaking her head at me, she went back to the main topic.
"Kitsuna, I understand that you can assist Zagan in learning, but that's not for me." My explanation only resulted in a face full of water, and shortly after, a breeze dried me off.
"Amari, you're a toddler trying to swim right now. I am aware that we are of the same age, but I am significantly more physically robust than you, am I correct? She said, in a warning tone, getting down in front of me.
"Sorry." I muttered, looking away.
"Kitsuna, you don't need to be so aggressive." Dad stated as he came through the drawing room door.
"Yes, you're correct; there's no need to worry about foolishness. I will continue to invest in his training until the start of the second stage." Kitsuna said, "This is my last month with Zagan," as if I had done nothing.
"Why? He didn't go through to the next stage." I looked up at her, confused.
"Oh, no, he will go through."
"Why?"
"You will find out when mom comes back." She simply explained that she was not helping at all.
"What?" I stood up and looked at Kitsuna.
"Zagan should be awake by now." She spoke before disappearing.
"She's getting further and further away. It's not long before she'll catch up to me." Dad said something.
"Is she really that much stronger than she was before her trip?" I said, looking hopefully at Dad.
"She has a new disruptive class, and she is the wrath holder. That alone makes her a powerhouse." Dad explained, shrugging.
"She has so many OP skills." I muttered, looking away.
"Well, it's just how this world works; what you do before your class means everything." Dad explained, looking at me with a neutral expression.
"And her sin?"
"There are buffs you can get, but I will never say it's a good thing; even Stacy's Berserker has its downsides." Dad's explanation left me wondering about potential benefits beyond the obvious.
"Even though it gives extra stats." I responded, cocking my head in his direction.
"Of course. Despite the diversity of classes in the world, there is still a need for equality in some form." Dad's words made me nod in understanding that, despite the importance of classes, there isn't much discrimination around us.
"I understand, but..."
"Hmm, every so often, you will face a challenge in your life that will make you or break you. Everyone gets ones like these, but the lower your stats are, the easier it gets for you." Dad's explanation caused me to furrow my eyebrows at him.
"That's even more of a riddle, dad." I exclaimed and sighed.
"Well, I don't really know how to explain it to you." Dad replied, shyly looking away.
"Then you shouldn't have said anything." I rebuked him, annoyed at him.
"I apologize, but An has sent me a message." Dad said he was getting serious again.
"Oh already, I am sorry my temper got the better of me."
"I was contemplating expressing my opinion, but I am uncertain if it is necessary given the ice chains you are wearing." Dad said thoughtfully.
"Hmm, it was really cold." I spoke in a pitiful tone, hoping to avoid any punishment.
"I would think so, even I felt the cold from here." Dad shivered as he looked at the chains on the ground.
"Well, are you going to help me get rid of them?"
"Nope, prove yourself capable." Dad said before jumping out of the window again, leaving me behind.
"Prove myself? Seriously, what is with this family? I must not squander my mana on these chains; I have a battle royal tomorrow." I muttered to myself, looking down at the ice-cold chains making my room unlivable.
With a loud sigh, I gazed at the chains and focused on creating small lasers that could penetrate the ice.
"This is going to take so long." I muttered to myself again.
{Next Day}
"Kitsuna has the most unique approach to training people." I said, while making a sparkling ball in my hand for the ninth time today. It might just look like a light show to many, but this was by far the strongest spell I have ever made. All thanks to Kitsuna for leaving ice chains in my room.
I did destroy her chains, mostly with small lasers I made, but this new spell of mine easily crumbled them down to dust.
Never knew ice could turn to dust, but you learn new things every day.
Someone from behind me said. "Hey Amari."
"Hmm, oh, it's you two." I grinned at the two tall dwarfs.
"Hey there, we were just wondering if it was fine if we teamed up."
"Hmm, no, the fight won't last long, so just drop to the ground when the round starts, okay?" I merely clarified, unsure if it was possible to evade the spell.
"Why?"
"Well, I am going to use my new spell." I smiled as I watched the two dwarfs while creating another sparking ball.
"Woah, pretty," the sister said, her eyes sparkling.
"Yeah, it's pretty dangerous." I said, grinning.
"What?"
"I am not going to provide an explanation of how it works or anything. Simply listen to what I have said, and you should be able to pass." I said, waving them off.
"Kitsuna really is your sister, huh?" The two dwarfs commented they were looking at each other before me.
"What!?" I shouted louder than I needed, feeling a blush rise.
"Sorry for bothering you." They said they were quickly running away from me.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, time for group number 3!!" The obnoxious caster yelled over the mic, bringing my annoyance to the forefront.
"I will get those two later. I don't like Kitsuna. She is excessively rough, whereas I am a refined lady." I muttered to myself repeatedly, pouting as I walked to the arena.
Looking around, I moved to the middle, making sure I would be able to reach everyone in the arena easier.
"Oh, you want to take everyone on at the same time." Someone by my side was grinning at me.
"Hmm, I don't think this will be a fight, though." I muttered, even though it was soft. The guy's face strutted up in annoyance and anger.
"Hahaha, little lady Novle, you will be dying first." The guy smiled and tapped his friend next to him, whispering in his ear.
"If you do that, poor girls will suffer."
"So what? It's what she deserves."
"Sigh, how are we friends?" The friend spoke, sighing to himself.
