章 121: Chapter 121:

"Kitsuna, he is the head butler," Kayda informed, confused.

"Yeah and? I don't give a shit. I will only tell the tomato girly, and she can tell the rest." I said, shrugging looking at the butlers' neutral expression.

"Sigh, fine," Kayda said, giving up.

"Anyways, let's go find that captain from yesterday. I think he might be of help." I spoke

"You sure?"

"Not really, but what else are we going to do here. Oh, and mister butler does tell us where this place you tried to raid." I asked politely.

"No, we are not going there, Kitsuna," Kayda said sternly.

"What, why not," I said, surprised at Kayda' denial.

"it's way too dangerous to go there," Kayda said, shaking her head.

"Hmm, you might be right, but we do need to see the place," I said, nodding.

"We are not going in," Kayda said sternly.

"Yes, of course."

"Fine, the location please," Kayda said, looking at the butler.

"I will get a written version for you right away." The butler said before running away.

"You think he will really give it?" I said with a raised eyebrow.

"don't know," Kayda said, shrugging.

"Well, anyway, let's leave the girl to sleep in peace," I said, glancing at the sleeping tomato girl.

"I guess we can do that."

"Oh right, what's the tomato girl's name? She never told me."

"..."

"..."

"Aaah, I forgot," Kayda said, looking away.

"You... forgot what's her name," I said, stumped.

"Uh, it was on the tip of my tongue, but I forgot it," Kayda said, trying to give a good excuse.

"I see. We will ask her later then," I said, shrugging.

"Okay, oh, here he comes back," Kayda said, seeing the butler walking towards us with a few pieces of paper.

"Great took him long enough," I said, walking towards him.

"Here you go. as ask the location of the suspect with some extra info about the place." The butler said, handing the papers to Kayda.

"Thanks," Kayda said, handing it to me, not giving it even a second glance.

"Thanks, I will read through them later," I said, putting it in my storage.

"You? What about Kayda."

"Her annalistic ability about some things is better than mine, but her common sense isn't perfect yet," Kayda said, smirking at me.

"Are you praising me or dissing me," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"Right, I will take my leave then." The butler said, nodding hesitantly before walking away quickly.

"You wronged me," I said, annoyed.

"No comment," Kayda said, turning around walking towards the exit of the mansion.

"Hey, you need to pay for that," I said, following behind her.

"I do?" Kayda said, looking at me baffled.

"Yes."

"no."

"Yes."

"no"

"Yes, you do."

"I do."

"Right at yea. But I will keep that in my pockets." I said, making Kayda defeated expression change into one of confusion.

"...what?" Kayda said, looking at me confused.

"I will dish out your punishment on a later date," I said with a sadistic grin.

"Dealing with the devil is so troublesome," Kayda said, sighing to her fate.

"Ho, Ho, Ho but don't forget I also need to get back at you for peeking on me for a month," I said with a wider grin than before.

"Troublesome, I tell you troublesome."

[3hours later]

"Ya want to know where the black market is, is it." The captain from yesterday said, narrowing his eyes at me.

"Yeah, I need some info, money, and connections. You know the normal things." I said, shrugging.

"Why don't you use that body of yours." A passer-by said, only to lose his head afterward.

"Man, what a mood killer," I said, chuckling a small fireball at the body burning it to ash.

"The usual things ya say?" He said, narrowing his eyes, even more, ignoring me just killing a person right in front of him.

"You don't need to worry. It's nothing that will get a bounty on your name or damage your name at all," I said, reassuring him.

"I ain't worried about that. Why would a 14-year-old kid ask me? Even when their guardian is standing behind them." He said, gesturing to Kayda.

"Guardian? No, she is my partner." I said, waving him off.

"I ain't judging, but if she ain't the same as you ain't the age gap..." he said, trailing off.

"Oh, I never thought about that," I said with a thoughtful look.

"Hmm, me neither. Luckily, you look older." Kayda said, shrugging.

"I see, so it's mutual." the captain said, nodding in relief.

"Hmm, in a way is," I said, glancing at Kayda's wings.

"in... never mind. You wanted to know where the black market is, yea." He said, changing the subject.

"Uh."

"Okay, it is here at the dock underwater." The captain said, pointing downwards.

"You don't say," I said, looking down, surprised.

"Yea, it's the best place to have it as you can run away easier."

"Hmm, I guess you can run away easier then," Kayda said with a thoughtful look.

"Ha-ha, it's like the mafia. They always work at docks with drugs and shit." I said, laughing.

"Mafia?" The captain said, confused.

"don't worry about her. She is just talking to herself," Kayda said, pushing me away.

"I... I see."

"Now, how do we get access to the black market," Kayda asked, smiling.

"Come to my boat later tonight, and I will take you there." the captain said, gesturing to his boat docked.

"Uh, that will be great, thank you," Kayda said, nodding.

"Hey, Kayda, do you think we will need to swim to get to the black market?" I whispered into Kayda's ear, knowing the captain would hear me.

"Hmm, I hope not," Kayda said, looking at the captain, worried.

"don't worry, that isn't needed." The captain said, laughing.

"Aah, that sucks," I said, pouting.

"Anyways, let's go. We have more things to do. meet you later, mister captain." Kayda said, waving at the captain while dragging me away.

"Cya later." The captain said, turning around walking away.

"Hey Kitsuna, how did you make him tell us," Kayda asked the moment we left the docks.

"Hmm, I looked around yesterday in my free time. First were the slums for any dealings and things like that, but I didn't find anything there except the fortress. Knowing I wouldn't find anything, I went to the docks and asked around. Apparently, that captain is quite the softy. so, I went to his ship and sat on his Crowsnest while looking out to see making look like I was longing for freedom." I said, shrugging.

"You, you played with him."

"Yes, he also asked me to join, but because I said I was too young. Because of this, he decided to help me if needed. Well, that is also why I kind of showed him I was cursed." I said, rubbing my head awkwardly.

"I don't understand you. One night you regret how you have been acting, and the next day you do it again."

"... yeah, it's kind of my way of living," I said with a sad tone.

"Well, in some cases, it's not bad to be like that. You just need to know the line." Kayda said, gently putting her hand on my shoulder.

"I will try," I said, smiling at her.

"Haah, I will try, try, try. What the fuck is that try? You don't try. You do okay." Kayda said, scolding me.

"... wait, you sound like Mom," I said, smiling unconsciously.

"Stacy? Hmm, I guess that is something she would say." Kayda said with a thoughtful look.

"But your right. There is t something like tries. There is only doing. Hahaha. Thanks, Kayda, for reminding me." I said, laughing before hugging Kayda.

"Uh, it's fine," Kayda said, blushing.

"Now to the slums," I said, letting her go before jumping onto the closes roof.

"Oi, don't just jump on people's roofs like that," Kayda said, following me.

"What, why not?" I said, looking at Kayda confused.

"Because it is not actually allowed."

"So, who is going to catch us. City guards?"

"y yes," Kayda said, a bit embarrassed, knowing what my reaction would be.

"Pff, what are they going to do. Try and catch us? We both know city guards are way too slow to do that. All they can do is yell at us to stop, and that is going to do even less."

"... I can't really deny that. City guards are really weak." Kayda mumbled, giving up.

"Oh, I know. Why don't we make it a race? The first one to the location wins."

"Why?"

"Because it will be fun, and I always love doing parkour in my past life."

"p, parkour? What is that?"

"Hmm, how to explain. It's like you are running through a training course, but you are doing it through a city making it illegal in away."

"I see. Are there any rules, and what does the winner get?"

"Winner gets one wish like always, and there are no rules. You can use everything you have to get at the location." I said, nodding.

"Is that so. You know where the place is, don't you?" Kayda said, looking at me skeptically.

"Uh, I have been calling it a fortress after all," I said with a smirk.

"Okay, how are we going to call the start," Kayda said, nodding.

"Oh, when this-"

"You there, stop right there and come down here, right now." Suddenly we heard a man shout from behind on the ground.

"Huh?" Confused, we looked back and down to the street we saw alone city guard looking up at us. Kayda and I looked at each other before bursting out laughing.

"Stand still and come down to the ground," Kayda said, wheezing.

"What a hypocrite," I said, laughing.

"I am from the city-"

"Yea, no one cares," I said, waving him off.

"Okay, let's go when this is the ground," Kayda said, lifting up a knife before throwing it into the air.
