章 10: Chapter 10: A Life of Luxury and a heartfelt talk
As they entered the sleek black Mercedes AMG, Roman couldn't help but ask, "So, Albert, how long are you accompanying me?"
Albert smiled slightly and replied, "Lady Sophia only specified that I should help you with anything you need. She also asked me to ask if it would not be a bother to stay with you at your house."
Roman thought about it for a moment. As a former member of the wealthy elite, he knew how to live a life of luxury. His father had taught him the importance of dignity and class, and he was comfortable with the idea of having a personal assistant.
He responded, "There's no problem, Albert. Also, please drive me to Oakwood and Maple."
Albert nodded and started the car, his driving smooth and efficient, yet not slow. Roman settled back in his seat, enjoying the comfortable ride.
Honestly, Roman wanted to get a haircut, but he decided to prioritize picking up his sister first. He wanted to buy her some new clothes and get himself some as well. He was determined to make a good impression at Sophia's party and show his sister that he was capable of taking care of her.
As they drove, Roman asked Albert, "Do you know how long it will take to get to Oakwood and Maple?"
Albert replied, "About 20 minutes, sir. We'll be there soon."
Roman's mind wandered as he sat in the car, thoughts swirling around his newfound strength. He wondered what his current status was, so he mentally called upon the "Status" command. A hologram appeared before him, displaying his information:

Roman's eyes widened in shock as he gazed at his strength level. If F-Rank was attainable by dedicated gym-goers and hardworking individuals, what did E-Rank signify? Was it reserved for martial artists or highly skilled fighters?
He pondered the possibility of strength beyond E-Rank, wondering if one would even be considered human at that level. The thoughts lingered for a moment before he shifted his focus to other matters.
Gazing outside the car window, Roman thought to himself, "Now that I can easily earn money, maybe I can start something of my own." Ideas began to formulate in his mind as the car continued its smooth journey to Oakwood and Maple.
Twenty minutes had passed, and the car came to a stop in front of the gate. Roman pressed the remote, and the gate swung open, allowing the car to enter the driveway of their two-story house.
Albert got out of the car and opened the door for Roman. "Thank you, Albert," Roman said with a nod.
As Roman approached the front door, it suddenly swung open, and a young lady, Bianca, rushed out and embraced him tightly. Roman hugged her back, whispering reassuringly in her ear, "I'm here, Bibi, it's fine."
They entered the house, with Albert following closely behind. Roman introduced Albert to Bianca, explaining that he would be their butler from now on.
Bianca's eyes widened in surprise. 'Butler? Were they rich enough for that?' she thought to herself. She turned to Roman, curiosity getting the better of her. "Roman, how did you get a butler?"
Roman quickly came up with a plausible explanation. "I've been working on a business plan, and it's been doing really well. I figured we could use some help around the house, so I hired Albert."
Bianca's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she smiled, clearly impressed by her brother's apparent success. Little did she know, Roman's newfound wealth and luxurious lifestyle were all thanks to the System.
Bianca retreated to her room to study for her upcoming exams, leaving Roman and Albert alone in the living area.
Albert, with his keen insight, posed a thoughtful question, "Young master, please forgive my offensive question, but isn't Miss Bianca a bit too close to you?" He phrased it delicately, aware of the potential sensitivity of the topic.
Roman's eyes turned cold, and his response was firm, "She is my sister, after all, and I'm not only a brother to her but also a father figure, if you might say." His tone conveyed a sense of protection and responsibility.
Albert apologized with a slight bow, "I apologize; it's just that usually, her peers are always obsessed with pop culture and boys."
Roman sighed, and his expression softened, "No, you're right; she is very... unique. After all, she was only 8 when our parents passed away, and she was on the phone with them when it happened. The trauma caused her to become antisocial, and I guess I didn't help with my overprotectiveness. So, I guess she's not the only one who's struggled. She's strong, though, and that's why I hope she'll make some friends and come out of her shell." He chuckled sadly, his eyes reflecting the pain of their shared past.
Albert, sensing the depth of Roman's emotions, apologized again, "I apologize for bringing up sad memories, young master."
Roman's expression turned resolute, "Haa, time passes, Albert; time heals, I guess. The only thing that matters now is the future." His words conveyed a sense of determination and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Albert's eyes met Roman's, and he shared a profound insight, "Although time heals, it can also widen the wounds. It is better to deal with problems, young master." His words carried a deep understanding, born from experience and observation.
Roman listened intently, recognizing the truth in Albert's statement. He had been trying to move forward, but the pain of his past still lingered. Albert's words encouraged him to confront his emotions and address the wounds that still lingered.
"Thank you, Albert," Roman said, his voice sincere. "I will take your words to heart and try to deal with them."
Albert nodded, a gentle smile on his face. "That is the first step towards true healing, young master. Remember, I am always here to support you."
