42.3% THE STRONGEST CREATURE OF THE BEAST PIRATES / Chapter 44: CHAPTER 44

章 44: CHAPTER 44

Alastor's body was thrown far away, like a kite with a broken string, and it continued to fly further and further.

Since Alastor was standing on a high place, combined with the immense strength of Whitebeard and the assistance of the strong wind, Alastor's body soared into the sky in the blink of an eye, turning into a star, though it was too far away to be seen.

Everyone in the Whitebeard pirates stood stunned.

The Fourth Team's boat approached Whitebeard, and Marco asked, "Father, is that guy dead?"

Whitebeard, for once, looked somewhat dazed. He blinked before tilting his head back and laughing loudly.

"Goo-la-la-la! Goo-la-la-la!"

The old man's laughter only left Marco and the others more confused.

"I was deceived by a brat!"

What Whitebeard said next shocked Marco and the others.

"That brat, he had already calculated everything in advance and ordered his subordinates to flee, out of my tsunami's range."

"He appeared to be desperate, facing me alone, but in reality, he had secretly positioned himself and deliberately provoked me, hoping to escape with my help."

"If I'm not mistaken, the direction in which that kid was thrown is the same as the path his subordinates took when they fled. At this moment, his subordinates are already on their way to meet him!"

"Goo-la-la-la! Goo-la-la-la!"

Marco, Thatch, and the Fourth division were completely dumbfounded.

Is there really someone in this world so calculating?

And his courage and resolve are rare indeed. After all, he had to face the strongest man in the world!

Gudong~

Marco swallowed nervously and said again, "But Dad, your attack was so powerful; he might already be dead. All that's left of him is a corpse."

"No!" Whitebeard sharply denied Marco's claim, his gaze fixed on the direction where Alastor had flown.

"Although he's on the brink of death, his life force hasn't completely faded."

"That brat—no, that man—even I have to admit, he's a terrifyingly calm guy. He's destined not to be easily killed!"

Marco and Thatch exchanged glances, their shock mirroring the immense wave of emotions that refused to calm.

"How is Master Alastor? Please, look at the life card Master Alastor left behind!"

"Give it to me and quiet down!"

Page One cried out with red eyes, holding Alastor's life card in his hand.

The life card was burning, rapidly shrinking from its original size to just the size of a fingernail.

Tears streamed from Page One's eyes, and his teeth bled from clenching them.

As everyone grew frantic, unable to bear the tension, the phone rang. It was Batman.

Page One quickly answered.

"How's it going? Did you get Big Brother Alastor?"

Batman's voice was flustered. "We got...we got him, but Mr. Alastor... Mr. Alastor, he..."

"Tell me quickly! What happened to Brother Alastor!" Page One yelled.

"Master Alastor seems to be dead, but... he doesn't seem to be dead. No matter how much we shout, he can't wake up!"

Batman's words instantly turned Page One's fury into raw, tangible anger. The other Beast Group members aboard let out a mournful roar.

"Damn Whitebeard! Master Alastor ended up like this because of us!"

In a quarter of an hour, Batman returned with Alastor's body.

His body was battered—his chest was crushed, blood oozed from his seven orifices—any normal person would have been dead by now.

But Page One couldn't believe it. How could Brother Alastor be dead?

He shouted desperately, "It's liquid food! It's liquid food! This is something Brother Alastor mentioned before he left that could save his life!"

The subordinates quickly brought in large quantities of liquid food, and Page One poured it into Alastor's mouth without hesitation.

One of the subordinates clenched his fist and said, "Lord Page One, Lord Alastor is so injured. Even if you feed him, he won't be able to digest it!"

"Shut your mouth!" Page One glared fiercely at him, his murderous gaze making everyone's hearts race.

The subordinate immediately fell silent.

Alastor could hear their conversations, but he couldn't open his eyes or respond. He thought to himself, Pay Pay, well done. Big brother didn't tell you the secret of becoming stronger in vain.

Just before his consciousness faded completely, Alastor faintly heard:

Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving death damage, defense +1000!

Congratulations, my ass...

Alastor sank into darkness.

"Haha, Ulti, your lunch is now my Joy Boy's!"

On the island of ghosts, two figures were chasing each other fiercely.

The figure in front wore a white kimono, and despite the ghost mask, her perfect figure, with curves clearly visible under the clothes, could be seen as she ran.

The figure behind was slender but radiated an aura of violence and anger, like a female Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Ulti roared angrily, "Yamato, you damn young master who steals food! The old lady's roast suckling pig still isn't settled with you!"

Yamato responded with a smile, "What roast suckling pig? I've long forgotten about that."

Then, she suddenly jumped a few times and disappeared into the jungle.

Ulti had no choice but to stop, panting heavily, a look of anger on her face. She stomped her feet and muttered, "I'm so mad! It's Kaido, that idiot, who can't even control his own son!"

Although Yamato was a daughter, she considered herself a man. Even Kaido agreed to treat her like a son and had his subordinates refer to her as Master Yamato. From this alone, it was clear that Kaido dotes on her.

"Hey, Ulti, I can hear you. You're talking badly about Boss Kaido."

Who's-Who appeared suddenly.

Ulti glared at her and snarled, "What, are you going to report me?"

Who's-Who shrugged and said, "Forget it. Boss Kaido won't care about what you say, you yellow-haired girl. But Ulti, did you notice what Master Yamato called herself just now?"

"Of course, it's Kozuki..."

Ulti suddenly paused in mid-sentence.

That's right—Master Yamato didn't call herself Kozuki Oden this time. Instead, she said Joy Boy!

By the way, who exactly is Joy Boy?

There was a strange glint in Who's-Who's eyes.

"It seems you're still too young to have heard of the name Joy Boy. Unfortunately, I, who once worked for the CP9, have heard of it long ago."

After hearing this, Ulti said nonchalantly, "It's nothing special. It's just that the damn young master probably learned about it from some diary."

"I'm also curious about how Master Yamato got that name. But he calls himself Joy Boy... Heh, Boss Kaido is probably going to have even more headaches in the future."

Ulti didn't bother to care about the riddles Who's-Who was talking about. Her lunch had been stolen by Yamato, so she needed to find a new one.

While looking for lunch, she muttered, "Why hasn't Pay Pay come back yet?"

---

Yamato happily returned to the cave where she and Alastor used to stay.

She took off her mask, eager to enjoy a delicious lunch, when she suddenly noticed a blank piece of paper in the corner of her eye.

"That looks like the life card Alastor gave me."

The life card had fallen to the ground, and Yamato picked it up.

However, as soon as she touched it, the life card spontaneously ignited, burning at an astonishing speed.

Yamato froze for a moment, staring blankly at the life card in her hand.

At that moment, her heart began to pound as if it had never done before, beating violently, then sinking into the dark seabed, into the coldest abyss.

"The life card represents a person's vital signs. If it shrinks, it means the person is dying. If it disappears completely, it means they're dead."

Alastor's words echoed in her ears.

A tear suddenly fell onto the life card—it was Yamato's tear.

It seemed that because of that tear, Alastor's life finally stopped burning, leaving the card only as small as a fingernail.

Yamato cried, her tears flowing uncontrollably. She pressed the life card tightly to her chest, murmuring:

"You won't die, how can you die?"

"As you said, you'll help me break my chains! You'll help me become the general of Wano!"

"Alastor, I know you're a man who keeps your promises. Even if your mind is full of crazy ideas sometimes, you never fail to follow through on what you've said or decided!"

"If you die, I... I..."

Yamato suddenly remembered something and hurriedly rummaged through the box. In the process, she knocked over the lunch she had finally stolen from Ulti, but didn't pay it any attention.

"Found it!"

What Yamato was looking for was the phone bug that Alastor had given her.

She quickly dialed the number, but no one answered after a long time.

Not giving up, Yamato continued to dial, over and over again. After more than a dozen calls, still no one answered.

"Pick up, pick up! As long as you pick up, I'll listen to you from now on!"

Yamato cried, shouting as her tears blurred her vision.

Porphyrin~

The phone bug finally connected!

But before Yamato could say anything, an almost roaring voice came from the other side:

"I keep telling you, Big Brother Alastor was seriously injured and passed out! I can't answer it!"

The phone was hung up.

Yamato blinked, and then a look of rage appeared on her face.

"It was Page One's voice just now. Very well, how dare he hang up on my call! When I get back, I'll kill him!"

While speaking, Yamato suddenly grabbed the mace from the ground, her fury radiating from her body.

Her anger wasn't directed at Page One, but at Kaido.
