Angeal was at a loss for words. Devin's forehead was against hers, his hand still on her cheek. She felt his breath brushing against her lips as he breathed, making Angeal hold her breath, feeling nervous. 

'Why is he acting this way? Why does he seem so sad? Am I missing things?'

Angeal was unsure of what to do. She wanted to reach out to him, but she was scared. Angeal was scared that she might trigger a timebomb in him, making her feel nervous. 

"D-Devin?"

Instead, she mentioned his name. The moment the Soul Eater heard her voice that he gave her in exchange for half of his life, he slowly opened his eyes, meeting Angeal's ocean eyes. 

"Are you alright?"

The moment Angeal asked him this question, Devin could not help but feel different. His lips turned into a tight line as he tried his best to control himself, not wanting to touch her anymore further.
