章 1: Echoes of Desolation....

I stood there, my headphones blasting music into my ears, as I watched the woman's body smeared across the car like a gruesome finger painting. Blood had covered all over the car, and a woman kept screaming non-stop, her voice piercing through the night air. It started to annoy me, but I couldn't look away. My eyes were glued to the scene, my mind trying to process what had just happened. People gathered around the car, their faces filled with shock and horror. Some took pictures, others whispered to each other. I didn't care. I just wanted to get out of there. I started walking away, my music still blasting in my ears, blocking out the commotion around me. As I walked, my thoughts drifted to the girl. Did she think this was a good idea? Did she have second thoughts? Or did she just not care? I'll never know. I'll never understand what goes through someone's mind when they decide to end their life. I've seen too many suicides in my life. My roommate killed herself after her parents died. She left me a note, apologizing for the mess she was leaving behind. I found her in the bathroom, naked and lifeless, surrounded by blood. It's an image that still haunts me. Maybe that's why I'm so numb to everything. Maybe that's why I can't feel anything anymore. I've seen too much death, too much pain. It's like my emotions have been drained out of me, leaving me a hollow shell. I kept walking, my music still playing in my ears. I didn't look back. I didn't want to see the woman's body again. I didn't want to remember this night. But I knew I would. I knew it would haunt me, like all the other memories that I tried to forget.
