章 12: School

'It feels like a first day at school.' Rei opens her eyes slightly as the sun is setting on her face.

*In class*

"Okay so here is the criteria…" the professor speaks loudly for everyone to hear.

Haruki has his head laid on the desk as he is resting but writing the notes the professor is saying.

He then lifts his head to look at Rei as she is in bliss staring at him.

*whisper* "Are you okay?" Haruki softly whispers as his voice gently moves through her body.

"Yes I'm okay.." Rei smiles and touches Haruki's hair as it looks fluffy and soft.

"Um. We're in class you can't that." Hiroshi speaks loud for everyone to hear.

They all look back in confusion and some people laugh at how Rei is embarrassed, and others just look confused as they can't see her.

"Don't be rude Hiroshi. Play nice." Haruki pats Hiroshi's back a little hard as a warning.

Haruki is the only person that can talk back or do anything to Hiroshi, because they made that bond of equality when they first met.

"Calm down bro." Hiroshi smirks. "I wasn't gonna say anything else I just wanted to get my seat back."

Haruki and Hiroshi look at the girl that is sitting in his seat… They stare at her with deep black eyes as their aura is growing stronger.

'Were they trying to scare her out of the seat?' Rei scoffs

"It's fine!" Rei says as she is getting up out of her seat. "You can take my seat." She tries to move to another seat but Haruki quickly and gently touches her wrist.

"You can sit right here." He moves a chair for her so that she can sit closer to him. He looks at her with glimmering eyes.

"Thank you" Rei says softly as she starts to blush.

'Why did he have to touch me like that. He's going to make think that he means something else…' Rei looks down sad.

Haruki grazes his hand against hers smoothly pretending like it was an accident.

Haruki leans in to her face, he then whispers in her ear, "Come here."

'Oh my gosh is this a confession, he's too close.' Rei starts blushing really hard as her imagination is going wild.

"I just wanted to give you this packet you were looking at, at the mall." Haruki smiles wide.

"Oh.. Oh! Thank you!" She says while smiling.

'Yea I need some me time to think over what is happening…' Rei thinks to herself as she is getting the gift.

Haruki looks at his paper where he was writing the notes, 'did I say something wrong..' he thinks as he starts to feel down. 'Maybe she doesn't like me.' He says while pouting.

Rei takes a glimpse at him, "HAHA.. I mean *cough cough*" Rei sees that he is pouting, 'he's so cute sometimes.'

Haruki looks at Rei, "Do you not like me." He starts to frown more.

"I do like you. But I don't know what like you mean." Rei says as she's blushing.

"Oh. That's not..um." Haruki smiles a little, "I don't mean confession. I like you as a person. I wanted to know if you hated me or not." He looks at her with a smile.

"Oh! Yea I figured I just wanted to know what kind of like you meant. Thank you for clarifying." Rei smiles then looks away. 'That stung my heart.'

Haruki looks away as well and his heart starts to ache, 'she can't ever like me in that way. It's not possible anyways. I shouldn't get my hopes up.'
