章 1: 1

Brilliant, searing pain from my right shoulder ripped me from my dream with a jolt. My body shot up in a sweating panic, the phantom pains of a meat hook still embedded deep in my skin. My breath stuttered as I grasped my shoulder, massaging the smooth and unbroken skin. My other hand trembled as it wiped the hot tears running down my cheeks.

I had always considered myself a decent person. I fucked up here and there, but all in all, I was a good person. What had I ever done to deserve any of this?

My aching muscles pushed me from my bed and I stumbled to the door, barely able to keep on my feet. The hallway greeted me, cold and heartless. I stepped past Alex's door, hand still clutching my shoulder. Next came Dean's and then Sam's, until I was finally facing the door I knew I would be scolded with holy water for opening.

The door handle was icey when my fingers clasped around it. There was a voice in the back of my head telling me to go back to bed, or at the very least, go to Alex. What lay beyond this door was only torture for myself and in turn to everyone else in the bunker. I couldn't keep doing this.

My hand moved without my permission and the door opened anyway. My body moved naturally inside of the room, leaving the door open enough that a crack of light could pour in from the hallway.

"Your back," Lucifer's soft voice called from the shadows of the room. "Another nightmare?" I nodded, though I wasn't sure he could see my nonverbal answer. I flicked on the light as I stepped further into the room, blinking at the brightness. "What was it this time?" My voice escaped me and I simply pointed to my shoulder as my foot crossed the boundary of the angel's trap. I stood before the fallen deity and took in his handsome, crooked smile. "You're looking rather scandalous tonight, sunbeam."

My gaze lowered to my body, taking in what I was wearing. A borrowed, oversized band t-shirt fell to the top of my thighs, barely covering my panties. I wasn't wearing anything else, the cold beginning to finally seep into my skin.

"I can change," I whispered, my voice barely audible. My hand pressed over my shoulder again as my dream taunted me once more.

"There's no reason for that, Sunbeam." His smile widened slightly.

I didn't need any more permission to sink to my knees a few feet from the chair he was still tied to. My eyes were fixed on the ground, my person so incredibly small beside him.

"Are your arms sore? I can untie you for a bit."

"You need to stop coming in here," he scolded in far kinder a tone than anyone else here would have. That didn't stop the way I winced at the words. He knew why I kept coming back. He knew that I needed him to feel any semblance of normal at all. It was unhealthy, but it was the only way I could cope. "If the others find out..."

"I don't give a fuck," I interrupted my voice a touch stronger in an attempt to convince him.

"Those brothers alone are unstable. If they find out that we ever…" he trailed off with a deep sigh, but I couldn't bring myself to look up. "They've tried to kill me for a lot less."

"It hurts," I whispered, pulling my knees to my chest and wishing for the conversation to move to other things. Away from the things I didn't want to hear. I knew they would all be pissed if they knew I came here. "They've been so real. Every damn nightmare feels like they're torturing me."

"Why do you keep coming here?" Lucifer sighed, his tone defeated. "Why not go to any of the rest of them?"

"They don't understand the way you do." I finally looked up at him and into those beautiful ocean-blue eyes.

"They've all spent their fair share in Hell. Sam even spent some of it with me. I'm sure they'd all be more than understanding." Lucifer tried again, his eyes rolling in slight annoyance. I shook my head, laying my face back against my knees, "Elizabeth…" he sighed, "I'm not a good influence. You've seen whatever that show is, and you've been to church at some point. You know what I am, what I've done. I will never be more than that. Never more than your villain. Your enemy. Stop trying to change that."

"You're not how the books say you are," I said softly.

"You don't know me."

I looked up at him again and saw him slouched in the chair, eyes full of annoyance. I got up and slowly stepped around him. He shifted, trying to follow me with his gaze as I knelt behind him. I untied him with deft fingers, the same fingers that would redo these knots at the end of the night. I stood again when they were slack.

"I'll tie you back up when I leave," I muttered, coming back around and sitting cross-legged in front of him.

"Don't tempt me, Sunbeam." Lucifer mocked. He pulled his arms in front of himself, the rest of the rope sliding from around them. He stretched his arms before standing and stretching more, his shoulders popping. "Why do you keep letting me out?"

"Not even the devil should be tied up," I said simply.

"You seem to constantly forget who you're talking to." He scoffed, "I kill things for fun, Elizabeth. I send plagues, cause famines, and start wars all for a good laugh. I…"

"What's your favorite color?" I interrupted.

He stopped and stared at me, blue eyes curious. "What?" He asked, taking a step towards me, but then retreating to sit in the chair. His eyes met my, steady. "What the Hell did you just ask me?"

"What's your favorite color?" I repeated, my voice small in my throat.

I didn't like the tone he had. It seemed tense, annoyed, almost angry that I had asked him such a simple question. It made me feel like I'd done something wrong. I pulled my knees up against my chest again. Maybe I shouldn't have untied him again. I definitely shouldn't have come here again.

"You really want to know?" He said softly, "You are just full of surprises, Sunbeam."

"Are you going to tell me or not? I can just go back to bed." I felt so small in front of him.

"Give me a minute. I've never had anyone ask me that before and want the answer." It was odd, but he almost seemed like a child. Even though the body that sat before me was much older, the soul even older, he was still so innocent at times. He was silent for a minute, lost in thought. "I've never had to think about it before. I suppose I enjoy the color green."

"Why?" I asked.

He stared at me, his eyes full of childlike wonder as he tried to decide if I was wasting his time or not. "It reminds me of the first time I saw grass."

"What's your favorite food?" I released the grip on my legs, relaxing now that things seemed to be going my way.

"I don't eat." It was short, pointed, and cold. I raised an eyebrow and Lucifer sighed. "I've always thought that a hot fudge sundae would be interesting to try. Something as cold as the snow the seraphim made, yet covered in something hot enough to melt it all."

"And your favorite thing to do?" I was beginning to smile. The thoughts of torture that still laced my mind were starting to fade.

"Before I fell and everything went to shit?" He inhaled deeply, his eyes turning to the ceiling in thought. "I enjoyed creating things. I made a lot of the rocks…"

I snorted, a small funny sound that didn't feel at place in the quiet. I was quick to cover my mouth, but he'd heard it. "You made rocks?"

Lucifer's eyes darkened as if I had hurt him deeply. "Never mind."

"No!" I said quickly, standing and taking hold of his shoulder to stop him from getting up as he tried, "I'm sorry. Please tell me. I would love to know."

His eyes flickered between mine and where I was holding him several times before he relaxed into the chair again. He didn't attempt to remove my hand.

"I made gems, not rocks." He mumbled. "And for some reason, you humans like diamonds above them all. I don't understand it." He sighed, "I made topaz, azurite, and chrysocolla. Yet all you seem to care about are diamonds unless it's your birth month or something else stupid."

"I didn't know that," I said softly.

"There's a lot of shit they left out of the damn book, Sunbeam." he huffed, rolling his eyes.

"What else did they leave out?" I asked, fighting to urge to move closer to him. He was so interesting. Yes, he was a massive asshole. But there was something about being able to see this soft side of him that was so dangerously irresistible. He was a person who had been ignored and just wanted to be like all the others.

"There's too much to tell you. The book says seven days, but God has a sense of humor." Lucifer paused, looking over me. "But you already know what he's like, don't you?"

"A little." I looked down, starting to trace designs up his arm his my other hand. "Do you prefer Star Wars or Star Trek?"

His eyebrows furrowed together, but there was a smile on his face now, "You think I've had the time to watch either of those?"

"You must have at least once. You don't sleep and they've been around for about fifty years now." I smiled back, "Not to mention you can see all of time and space, right? Or at least I assume you can. I don't know if that's accurate, but they say that…"

The sentence was broken as his hand took my face and pulled me to him. Lucifer kissed me, stealing the words from my mouth as he did. My eyes blew wide as my heart pounded in my ears. I wasn't sure what to do or how to react. He had never really kissed me before. Just the once before he undressed me and then once again just as quick the morning after. And I had never really been kissed like this before. Never like this. It was such a strange feeling to think about how it felt to kiss him. It was so soft and warm. He pulled away from me and I inhaled deeply, finally noticing how empty my lungs had been.

"You need to stop thinking so much," Lucifer whispered, resting his forehead against mine. "You're going to make me feel like a sinner for corrupting you."

"What did I think?" I asked, breathless and ignoring the fact that the biggest sinner in the universe was afraid of making me one.

His thumb caressed my cheek and he quickly placed another hungry kiss against my lips. I couldn't stop myself from reaching out to him this time. I ran my hands over him, just as hungry for his touch as he was for mine. Any part of him I could reach. Any part I dared to touch.

"That you had never been kissed properly." I felt his fingers twist into my hair, "I need to stop being your first for everything, Elizabeth."

I shook from the way he said my name, "What if I want you to be my first everything?" I asked in a small whisper, almost afraid he wouldn't hear.

I should stop talking. I should stop kissing him. I should tie him back up and go back to bed. I should never have come here in the first place. I should never come back into this room again.

"You have a horrible way of speaking the truth when I'm around." Lucifer teased, chuckling as he pulled back with a smile, his fingers leaving my hair.

"You have a horrible way of making me say the truth when you're around." I shot back, I stepped closer.

I sat on his lap, straddling him. He tilted his head to the side, a question written across his eyes. I rested against his chest as one of his arms snaked around my waist, pulling me even closer.

"You should go back to bed, Sunbeam," Lucifer mumbled. He didn't fight as I kissed his neck. I shook my head as I ran my lips across his pulse. He smelled like charcoal. "I promise you won't have any more nightmares."

"Why did you do it?" I asked softly. I pulled at the collar of his shirt, kissing down his neck again.

"Do what?" He cleared his throat, his body stiffening as I kissed his collarbone.

"Sleep with me," I answered, looking up at his pink face. I couldn't help but smirk.

"I made a promise." His voice shook ever so slightly.

I smiled as I shifted my weight on his lap and he cleared his throat again. "Are you hard?" I asked, laughing softly.

"What can I say? You're a turn-on, Sunbeam." Lucifer whispered, avoiding my eyes.

I brushed my fingers through his hair and kissed him softly. "Why?" I asked against his lips.

"Why are you a turn-on?" He asked softly against mine.

I shook my head, "No." I bit his lip, "Why did you save me?"

"You should get off of me, Elizabeth." He said. I ignored him and pushed my hips against his instead. His breath hitched and he groaned softly. His arm tightened around my waist. "Don't do that."

"Why not?' I teased, grinding my hips down again. He bit his lip and closed his eyes tightly, trying to hold in any other sound or look. "I think you like it."

"I like you." Lucifer breathed, "That's why I saved you. You don't…" His hands tried to clasp tightly to my hips, trying to hold me still as I continued to tease him, "You don't treat me like everyone else does." He moaned softly, "Stop doing that."

"No," I answered. I ground against him again, slower this time.

I kissed him again as I rocked my hips on him over and over again, starting a circular motion. He moaned against my lips, pulling me closer to him. His fingers slipped under my shirt, drawing a shiver through my skin. I pushed down harder, wanting to feel it against me as I teased him more and more. I could feel just how much he wanted this, how much he wanted me. It was such a fun little game, especially when he started trying to push me from him, or tried to take my shirt off. But I wasn't done with him yet. So I'd push harder, or push his hands away to kiss him deeper.

Soon, he broke the kiss, breathing hard against my neck. "St..stop." Lucifer gasped, his hands desperately trying to still my hips. "Eliza…"

I leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "You don't want me to stop, do you?" I whispered in his ear. He shook his head and I smiled. "Then don't fight me."

His protests vanished into soft breaths and moans. The sounds of pleasure were stifled as he hid his face in my neck, his hands clutching my hips tightly under my shirt, almost guiding them now.

"Elizabeth," He breathed heavily. "Please…"

I cut him off, kissing him hard and digging my hands into his light blonde hair. I winced as his fingers dug hard into my hips. I knew I would have fresh bruises from them. I stopped moving and broke the kiss, both of us breathing hard into the air between us.

I smiled softly and attempted to get off his lap, but he held me firmly to him. I looked at him in confusion, until I could feel him pulsing beneath me. He kissed me again.

"I am never going to…" He breathed deeply, a dangerous red hue to his eyes, "You are never going to get away with that again."

I was almost taken aback by his sudden boldness. Had I done something wrong other than slightly embarrass him by making him cum in his pants?

"Why?" I asked a smirk on my face.

"Because I'm the fucking prince of darkness." He answered with that oh-so-infamous crooked smile.
