Boris Lang met with Gin Ran after promising to have the Goddess of Fire and the Goddess of Ice keep Yan Ran distracted from cooking brunch. He wanted to meet with him quickly to have discuss with him the tactics he was allowed to use against the Fan Sect.
Boris Lang came from the most prodigious Empyrean City, Seven Ray City, and had been teaching the next generation of Empyrean Prodigies while also bringing great prestige to Sacred Light City. His team was under the unofficial domain of Gin Ran, which was why he was picked to participate in the Forbidden Tournament.
The Empyrean's main planet had a connection with several hundred lower grade planets and were able to easily go to places like Lin Fan's East Continent through the Empyrean Temple Gateways. However, what he could do to officially cause trouble to the Fan Sect was based on the decision of Gin Ran alone.
For instance, if Little Quin actually managed to kill Lin Fan yesterday, he would've received punishment from Gin Ran. Since he was young, he wouldn't have gotten more then ten years in a sealed cultivation room, however, Boris Lang wasn't young nor stupid nor impatient.
"What Lin Fan did out there shows that he's unfit for your daughter..." Boris Lang prostrated himself on one foot as his cold gaze turned to one with warmth. "However, I'm more concerned with Zhou Ra. Let me send a team to test him before the next round of the tournament..."
"He concerns me as well... However, what do you mean by test?" Gin Ran's demeanor began to emit a slight killing intent which surprised Boris Lang. "My daughter deserves her husband be chosen with fairness... If you take out his best teammate, that won't be fair..."
"It's not fair that we can't use our best treasures..." Boris Lang's teeth slammed together as he lowered his head with anger. "If Blare Ron used the Heavenly Jade Palace to seal Lin Fan, he could've easily beat him."
"That's right, but the rules of the Empyrean League are to be followed... Do you know why?" Gin Ran wrapped his arm around Boris Lang's shoulder and lightly squeezed. "Do you have any idea how many gods this small planet created since it birthed over ten billion years ago?"
"Isn't that stupid to worry about? Why would a god care about the Fan Sect?" Boris Lang paused before he shook his head with fear... "I mean... Why would anyone care about the fate of a small tournament..."
"Because of birth ties..." Gin Ran shook his head and pat Boris Lang on the shoulder as he smiled and took out a little pearl pendant from the Empyrean Capital. "Birth ties don't care about laws, nor do they care about power... All they care about is the sea of origin..."
"Basically, we follow certain rules so those who came from certain worlds don't get mad at us... Can you imagine if secretly an Overlord was from the Fan Sect, and he heard a thousand years from now some snot nosed brat named Boris Lang killed Lin Fan in an unfair way?"
"Your head would be off and cleaved without you blinking and your children would also be dead!" Gin Ran shook his head and abruptly turned to deliver a glare that contained his point. "Touch Lin Fan outside of the arena and I'll kill you myself... However, I can tell Zhou Ra isn't from this planet... You can do whatever you want to him..."
"Thank you..." Boris Lang rose from his feet, abruptly disapearing as Gin Ran scratched his head... "Damn it... You better beat him Lin Fan, or I'm going to have a bureaucratic nightmare on my hands when I deny giving that brat my lovely Yan Ran..."
"Unfortunately, it seems there is probably no way you can win... You're a hundred years too young to beat Boris Lang..."
Gin Ran disappeared and reappeared back in the arena only to find Yan Ran smiling with the two Empyrean Goddesses. They all seemed to be working on alchemy, but suddenly a sweet smell came out of Yan Ran's pot.
"Father! I'm making something new! Sweet Pills! They will make your vitality and drive increase for dozens of days!"
"I... I have to go to the bathroom! Be back in a few years!" Gin Ran suddenly disappeared as the three girls laughed at their successful prank.
They smiled and turned to Gale Fan as he walked onto the stage towards Boris Lang. The next match of the tournament was about to begin, and the bunnies were making a killing on selling out snacks!
