章 27: The ’Golden Jubilee’ Banquet
- Emperor Guest Room -
Damian Shen was rushing to open the door as soon he heard of the knocking sound, just like his expectation, the person in front of the door was Venn Lee.
Closing the door behind her, she was in a very dazzling mood and beaming an alluring smile when she said, " I missed you... Damian Shen..."
It was the first time she called him by his complete name after he forbid her the last time. But this time, he was happy that she called his full name to show her endearment toward him.
Unexpectedly, she hugged him tightly and kissed him passionately. "That to erased the wicked woman kiss!"
However, Damian Shen was tightening their embrace and kissed her deeply, while he entered her mouth with his tongue to taste her soft and sweet flavor. She returned his deep kiss greedily while her tongue also exploring his masculine taste. Her action had awake his yearning desire. Gasping for air, she broke the kiss and said, " Later..., we have to attend the banquet and afterward, I need to tell you something..."
Still recovering from his arousal state, he headed toward his military jacket by the chair and asked, " Help me put my jacket on, honey!!"
She complied and smiled contentedly. Following the cultural norms, the little act of affection was a loving act of a wife toward her husband.
Damian Shen smiled smugly and together they walked side by side to the banquet room.
- The Banquet Room -
There were long wide tables around the spacious room walls filled with numerous delicious food in a great quantity. The Imperial servants were standing on each side of the table and helping out the quests to fill in what ones want on a very expensive porcelain plate.
Each private table of two was assigned depending on their ranks to the Emperor country. The Emperor sat on his throne in the center of the room to show his power and mightiness.
Both of the powerful Marshals tables were right in the front row near the throne, the left side for Marshal Lang and the right side for Marshal Shen, while the rest of the tables were assigned in a square perimeter with an opening in the middle to create a path for an entrance to the center stage. The stage was covered by an expensive cherry red anti-slip carpet. At the center stage, the most beautiful women in the nation were dancing the traditional dance of the Emperor country.
Venusa Shen was standing behind Damian Shen who was sitting on a gold chair. While Alex Lee finally showed up and stood next to her.
Damian Shen nodded at him and smile with approval at his majestic look in his military guard uniform. He was proud of Alex Lee as his own son and whenever he was around Damian Shen felt a familiar closeness toward him.
Alex Lee had brought his own special gift - a 3-inch toy ball -, by the welcoming table that was guarded heavily by the Emperor special ops.
Alex Lee had dropped the ball casually and secretly inside the big box containing other gifts that had gone through inspection.
Venusa waved at Dane and Willis that was just coming in to stand behind the emperor. They waved back and smiled with a friendly countenance.
The emperor was full of distrust and always watching his back. Since the rebels had been destroyed, today he would return Marshal Shen personal guards since he was worry that they might be his spy. At that moment, he told them to go behind Marshal Shen for he had commanded his own personal guards to stand behind him and he said, " Marshal Shen I have no need of your guards anymore, so they could go back as your personal guards from now on.
Damian Shen nodded and answered, " As you wish your majesty!". At that moment, he realized that the Emperor didn't trust him completely.
Alex Lee was waiting for the right moment to click on his military button, which was a camouflage of the button to detonate his homemade bomb; not strong enough to kill anyone but enough to scare the Emperor.
He saw an opening for the right moment and while pretending to fix his military shirt, he pressed the button with a big smile on his face and inwardly saying, 'Bye Bye... Precious gifts...and this is just a warning for you..., Evil Emperor!'
"Boom!!"
Instantly, the bomb was exploding loudly and sending everyone in a panic.
Hurriedly, the Emperor was leaving first with his trusty bodyguards, without worrying about his guests who were his loved one, the powerful Marshals, and other court officials.
The whole room was in an uproar, dancing girls were screaming and shrieking for help but everyone was to busy to save themselves.
"Calm down everyone!!", Marshal Lang tried to calm the public while he was gazing at Venusa still with infatuated puppy eyes.
Damian caught Nick Lang's expression and like a raging bull, he pulled Venusa's hand to walk farther away from the flamboyant man.
After a long while, the panicking guests had suddenly calmed down when they realized there were no more upcoming attacks.
Damian Shen was about to investigate for the culprit but Venusa was holding his arm tightly and whispered on his ear, " We need to talk! Now!".
Damian Shen nodded for he believed that she was going to discuss something important regarding the incident.
He assigned Dane and Willis to investigate just because it was still his duty to do so. Also, nothing bad would befall him if he left now since Marshal Lang was the one responsible for the safety of the party while he was only a special guest invited by the emperor personally to come to the 'Golden Jubilee' without any of his soldiers; for it would be considered a treason to come to Emperor city with them.
The Emperor definitely was a very cautious man, and that's how he ruled his monarchy.
- Emperor guest room, Damian Shen lodging -
Looking around to make sure no one was following them, Venusa locked the room behind them.
Suddenly Damian Shen became fully aware that the bomb culprit was Alex Lee and Venn Lee and like it or not, he was their helper.
The room air was becoming heavier when he was pacing around the silent room with his hands on the air once a while to say the unintelligent words furiously.
After he calmed down, he sat down on his bed while staring at his loved ones who were sitting by the round dining table with an unmoved and indifferent expression.
"Explain to me..., Why?"
Before starting his story, Alex Lee pulled his chair right in front of him to gaze at him, face to face, while Venusa was going outside the door to safeguard the secret information.
For one hour, Alex Lee was explaining the situation and Damian was listening to the secret information with disbelief.
If it was another person telling him the secret information, he would accuse them of treason and killed them on spot. However, coming from the boy's wonder mouth, he believed it completely without any reason or proof.
With an angry tone, he asked, " Why don't you inform me first before you acted?"
While Alex Lee answered with a calm voice, " We were rushing to carry out the plan after just finding out of the secret news, yesterday at midnight!", and he added in a suggestive tone, " Marshal Shen before my mommy came in to confide to you of something I want you to know the second secret news that we receive unexpectedly."
Then Alex Lee told him about Leah Shen's secret birth story, so her mother thereupon wouldn't have a hard time to explain her secret.
To finish up, he said, " Whatever happened later on..., I want you to promise to forget that you are a powerful marshal and just be a 'man' who loves his woman!"
Damian Shen answered, " I promise..., from now on I am just a man in love!"
Without anymore word, Alex Lee was out from the door and while hugging her mom for goodbye, he said softly to her, ' You just need to reveal your secret identity.., good luck mommy!!"
At a disclose location near the palace, Agent 003 and 001 were welcoming Alex Lee safe return and together they left for another secret mission...
