Richard's talk with Charmaine gave him a huge relief and calm. He brags to himself about how Charmaine was raise by him and Dei. He knows his heart is at peace now and all his apprehensions are gone. He is no longer scared because he knows his first princess will stick with him for life as she declares.
Dei is still awake when he enters their room. She is reading a book while biting her nails. He knows the incident earlier still bothers his wife. But he cannot blame her for the anxieties as he has the same worries earlier before he had his talk with Charmaine.
"Why are you still awake?" Richard asked.
"Maybe I am waiting for you." Dei replied and closed the book she's reading.
"Maybe? Does it mean you are uncertain?" Richard asked again then sat on his side of the bed.
"Yeah, I'm not really sure if I am waiting for you or just can't rest because of what happened earlier." Dei replied. "What do you think, should I talk to Charmaine to further explain to her everything?" She asked.
"There is no need for that. We already talked earlier. She said she is okay." Richard replied.
"Are you sure? Maybe she is only saying that because she does not want me to worry." Dei said.
"Your highness, please stop the paranoia. Charmaine is fine. I said we already talked." Richard said.
"Huh? You talked to her, and you did not call me so we could have talked to her together?" Dei commented.
"She initiated the talk. Believe me, my queen you have nothing to worry about. Tomorrow when you wake up, you will take all of this only as a dream. So will you please relax?" Richard said.
"What did you talk about?" Dei excitedly asked.
"Well, that is our little secret." Richard brags while smiling widely.
"I will call off the wedding if you will not tell me." Dei threatened.
"Are you serious about calling off the wedding just because of this? You are unbelievable." Richard exclaimed.
But Richard has no choice but to tell Dei everything Charmaine and he have talked about. Slowly he sees a grin in Dei while he relays in details the talk. "What's funny, your highness?" Richard asked.
"Nothing, actually it is not funny." Dei replied. "Instead I am happy because I never thought she would do that. I told you to trust her love for you, so stop being jealous." She further said.
"I am not jealous. Perhaps I got intimidated because this concerns her real father. So many things were on my mind when Dwayne showed up. I can't help but be paranoid, until this happens. Today is one of the best days of my life." Richard replied
"I'm so happy you are okay now, your highness." Dei said while cupping Richard's face
"Charmaine said I was her first love." Richard brags again.
"Really, I told you so." Dei asked smiling.
"Yes, it gave me different feeling. I am so happy, your highness. I can feel my heart will burst with gladness anytime now." Richard excitedly told Dei.
"I don't know, but I have this feeling Charmaine made you cry during your talk with her." Dei said chuckling. "Do not deny it. I know it is more possible than impossible."
"I did not" Richard denied, but Dei was quick to tease him.
"I don't believe you Richard, knowing you …"
"Yeah you are right, I cried but only a bit. Are you happy now?" Richard admitted. "It's just heart warming. You know Charmaine is not as expressive as Athena. So when she utters words such those, it gives so much joy in my heart." He explained.
"Wait, I have something to show you. Dwayne sends me a viber message." Dei said and shows him the message.
"Please tell Richard I really appreciate he allowed Charmaine to meet me. I honestly do not know what is in him because the way I see it, it is not only you who fell in love with him so much, but Charmaine as well. Please tell her Uncle Dwayne loves her so much. Congratulations and Best wishes on your wedding day."
After reading the viber message, Richard gave back the phone to Dei smiling, "At least it is now over and I am very happy to have a very understanding daughter. We can finally all move on and can start anew." Dei said. "I can't imagine how worried we were and we do not know how to tell her. Only to find out she already knows the truth." She further said.
"I agree." Richard took a deep sigh "So much time has wasted, but the important thing is, we are still together with the princesses. The king with his beloved queen and princesses will live happily ever after." Richard said.
"I like that. The queen likes the happily ever after with her king." Dei replied.
********************
Dei and Richard made themselves busy in their wedding preparation. They made sure to be hands on in all their wedding details. Their friends even throw a Bridal shower and Stag party on the same date.
Until the eve of their wedding Richard was so upset because they will not be sharing the same room that night. He was told to spend the night in the hotel where their reception will be held while Dei and the princesses stayed in their house. To at least ease his disappointment, Richard just settles on communicating by sending text messages to each other.
Richard: We have been married for seventeen years, why are we separated on the eve of our wedding day? Whose idea is this anyway?
Dei: Correction, we were married only for fifteen years, we were separated for two years.
Richard: What did you get to correcting me my queen?
Dei: Getting you more upset.
Richard: You will pay for this when we get to Korea. I'll make sure to lock you in the room the whole day.
Dei: And for your information, the separate rooms on the eve of our wedding was my mother's idea. Do we have a problem with that, your highness?
Richard: I was just asking. Please don't tell her I complained about us sleeping separately at the eve of our wedding day.
Dei: Are you scared?
Richard: Of course, she is your mother.
Dei: Don't be, she loves you so much.
Richard: Can't we not really stay in Korea for two weeks?
Dei: I don't have problems with staying in Korea for two weeks. We could even celebrate Christmas there, as long as the princesses come with us.
Richard: With that statement, it would only mean I lost this argument, too. I just want to spend more time with the queen. What's wrong with that? I'm sure the princesses won't mind.
Dei: Not on Christmas season, my king.
Richard: Fine.
Dei: Why don't you just work on to your wedding vow? It would help you get rid of your boredom in the hotel.
Richard: Are you done with your wedding vow, my queen?
Dei: Yes, I am. I will have another review later then I am all set for tomorrow.
Richard: Can I see the draft of your wedding vow my queen? Send it to my email.
Dei: Shut up, you are such a cheater. You have to wait until tomorrow.
Richard: I love you my queen.
Dei: I love you more my king. I'll see you tomorrow at the wedding.
