Dei and Richard are in their mini-office. As promised, Dei told Richard in details what she and Dwayne have talked about.
"He already knows the truth. According to him he requested for my 201 file and reviewed my profile. When he calculated Charmaine's age, he found out that I was conceiving on the month that we were still together."
"Did you confirm it?" Richard asked.
"Yes I did, isn't it the correct way to do it? I guess I owe it to him for a long time." Dei explained. "But this scares me, what if he will ask to meet Charmaine, which is unimpossible? How shall we tell this to her? I don't want my first princess to get at me."
"Charmaine is a smart girl. She will understand." Richard said to appease Dei though he is also concern on how Charmaine will take the truth. He admitted to himself how he was so complacent and he ignores this situation would come.
"But this is bothering you too, don't deny it your highness, I feel that it scares you too." Dei said
"Who would not be bothered? Tell me, would you like her to know that I am not her biological father?" Richard asked.
"Honestly No. I do not want to confuse her. Also Athena, I am afraid of how she will take this. I don't know what to do anymore. This discussion increases my fear on the possible things that will happen." Dei replied.
"Let's admit, we are not ready for this. We were too complacent that Dwayne wouldn't come back anymore. But it is not yet too late. I think we have no choice but to tell Charmaine the truth before she finds out from other people." Richard explained.
"What other people are you talking about? We are the only one who knows about Charmaine's biological father, not even my parents know the truth. Only Coleen plus Dad and Rizza knows the truth." Dei objected.
"Your highness, we both know the truth is not a big deal to those who know it. That secret is safe until Charmaine's real father gets into the picture. Now is a different story, let us be very vigilant." Richard said
"What shall we do now?" Dei worriedly asked.
"We should wait on what Dwayne will next. What did he say when you confirmed it to him." Richard asked.
"He just asked why I didn't tell him. I told him the truth. I was unable to get the chance telling him because he stops communicating. He said he was heart-broken when he learned that we got married." Dei said. "I felt so guilty when he said that your highness."
"Don't be, he had his chance but he blew it." Richard said.
"What chance are you talking about? Three weeks is not enough for that chance that you are talking about Remember, he left without knowing about my condition." Dei opposed.
"So, you are on his side now. I'm offended." Richard said frowning.
"Are you serious your highness? Please don't think that I am siding with him. You are very much aware that we owe him big time." Dei said.
"Ok, let's just put it this way, why don't you ask him this, if you tell him about your condition, three days before he leaves. What would he do?" Richard challenges Dei.
"I never thought about that. I felt so guilty and it did not cross my mind to throw that hypothetical question. And I believe you understand why I am saying this, your highness." Dei insisted.
"Of course I do. I perfectly understand. What I am saying is, it is unfair that you take all the blame. He stopped communicating, when he learned about us. He should have had his balls intact and bravely face you. He should have it straight from you. Why wait for seventeen years?" Richard profoundly explained.
"He also told me to call off the wedding." Dei honestly said.
"What???" Richard exclaimed. "Do you realize how insane you ex-boyfriend is?" he irritably said.
"He said he never stopped loving me." Dei continued.
"And you believe that?" Richard sarcastically said.
"Yes, I felt he was telling the truth." Dei replied to tease Richard.
"Please tell me you're kidding me, your highness. You are begin scaring me." Richard sadly said.
"What is scary?" Dei asked to continue teasing.
"Please tell me the truth. Are you considering the idea of calling off the wedding now he is back?" Richard asked obviously with a heavy heart "I promise I will not get mad, just be honest with me please."
Dei released a deep sigh, realizing how the conversation is affecting Richard. She sat on his lap then gave him a little smack enough to at least ease his tension for a moment. "Don't you trust me when I said I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you?" She asked. Richard just gave her a gaze so she continued. "I am not calling off the wedding. I will not do that. I already ended whatever I had with Dwayne when I walked out on him earlier."
"And why did you walk out on him?" Richard coldly asked.
"I got irritated. He wants us to continue whatever was left seventeen years ago. You are right, he is insane for believing I am his end game." Dei said.
"What if the universe says he is your end game? That it is possible. What if when you wake up one day. You feel you love him still? What will happen to us?"
"You know what, your highness? You are saying nonsense things. Dwayne was so paranoid earlier and I did not expect you were more paranoid that he was." Dei said trying too hard to remove Richard's insecurity attack.
Richard did not stop there, "Can you please just answer my question. Why are you going around the bush?" He irritably said.
"If one day I wake up and realize that I am still in-love with him, I'll get back to sleep." Dei replied chuckling.
"I am not kidding, my queen. The king is asking a serious question and he expects a serious answer from the queen." Richard said frowning.
"This queen is answering truthfully. If that happens, I will go back to sleep, again and again and again, until my heart beats for you again." She said.
"I love you so much my queen." Richard said not removing his gaze to Dei.
"And the queen loves her king so much too. I can't imagine my life without you, your highness. For two years that we were separate, my life was so incomplete." Dei said while she hugs her fiancée tightly.
Richard beams widely which started Dei to continue teasing him "You were moved, I felt it, down there." She uttered.
"You are insane." Richard said and finally he was beaming widely this time.
"Come on spill it your highness, you were moved with my declaration." Dei never stops teasing.
"Let's go to our room so that I can show you how much the queen made the king very happy with her love declaration." Richard said then pull Dei's arm going up to their room.
"Now you are flirting." Dei exclaimed.
"And you like that." Richard replied.
Dei chuckled and said "Yes I do." Then submissively run with Richard to their room.
