On November 12, 1902, towards the end of the year, Australia received an unexpected guest.
Earlier this year, the island nation had signed an alliance treaty with the British Empire. The purpose of this alliance was to counter Russia's expansion in East Asia and protect the interests of both countries.
In fact, this treaty would later contribute to the Russo-Japanese War that would occur two years later. After defeating the Russian Far East Army, the island nation would gain recognition from other major powers, establishing itself as one of the great powers in terms of strength and status.
However, this had no direct impact on Arthur and Australia. The current influence of Australia was limited to Oceania, without involvement in Southeast Asia, let alone distant East Asia.
But Arthur didn't expect that Australia would also receive a visit from the island nation.
