He isn't alone since there was 99 others that are waiting for the opening of the huge metal door in front of them.
Random person A:"When are they opening the door?"
Random person B:"I don't know, they told me to wait here until the door opens then they'll explain everything"
Alex was just standing there while listening to the others talked and feeling anxious since he remembered his parents 'encouragement' words before he left to the boot camp.

*Metal door opening*
everyone immediately stops talking and looks at the individual coming out from the other side of the door. they instantly felt their body tense up automatically without realizing why and while they are feeling this, the individual was analyzing each one of them and when he was done is when he started speaking
The individual:"Listen up, All of you will go through a series of trials that will test every aspect you can possibly think of. Each trial will only stop once all of you reach your absolute limit, you will be able to give up...right now but if you step towards that door then you will lose any rights of backing out so you will be FORCE to complete the trials or.....you'll die, is that clear?"
