章 17: A date

Ben

I'm so excited for the date. I wear jeans and a sweatshirt. I try to fix hair but it has that cute messy look so I leave it like that. I seat on the couch waiting for Aiden to come back. My leg bounces with excitement.

When Aiden comes back, he is refreshed. He is wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. I love that we are both wearing casual clothing. He motions for me to follow him.

On our way, I see Freya who waves at me and her husband Sabastian who greets Aiden and nods at me. When we finally leave the house. I climb into Aiden's car. I buckle my seat belt and I'm practically beaming with excitement. I feel Aiden's gaze and I look at him, he is looking at me with a soft expression.

"What?" I ask

"You look like an excited puppy. " He leans down and kisses me. His tongue brushes against mine. When he pulls back. "You are beautiful."

I blush. His words always catch me off guard. "Thank you." He drives. I notice him take a left turn when he is supposed to take the right one to town.

"Ummh the town is that way." I say.

"We are not going to town." He smirks at me.

"Where are we going?" I say looking around but all I see is the road and the forest.

"So impatient." He places his hand on my thigh and rubs it. "You will see when we get there." His hand is hot where he touches me. Are werewolves always this hot? We drive for about 30 minutes.

He stops the car at the middle of nowhere. I look around but there is nothing but the forest. Aidens gets out of the car then comes around my side to open for me. I step out gracefully. I don't know if it's a vampire thing or not but now I'm more confident in my strides. Aiden carries a picnic basket on one hand then takes my hand with the other.

We walk into the forest. I can see clearly even though it's dark out.

"Where are we going?" I ask again, curious.

Aiden chuckles. "I'm gonna tape your mouth if you keep on asking me that." He says amusingly.

I clamp my mouth shut and make a gesture of zipping my mouth and throwing away the key. He rolls his eyes at me with a small smile on his face. I hide my own secret smile. We walk for a while. The forest is quiet and peaceful. Only the sounds of animals.

I hear water flowing before we come to a beautiful view. I gasp looking around. We are looking at a beautiful waterfall which has got to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I look at Aiden who is looking at me watching my reaction.

"This is....Aiden this is beautiful." The sound of the water falling is peaceful to my ears. I take out my phone and snap a phone then send it to Liam. I quickly put it back so that I don't disturb our date.

When i turn around Aiden has set a cloth on the grass and all my favorite snack, wine and also blood. He pats a space besides him and I seat down. We are facing the waterfall.

"This is beautiful. Thank you." I haven't been on a date in years. Damian stopped taking me to dates five months after we started dating.

"I wanted to bring you here before but a lot has been going on. This is my second favorite place to be."

"What's your first then" I ask curiously, maybe it's the cabin. I love the cabin too.

"Inside you baby. " I choke on the wine I've been drinking. Aiden laughs out loud while rubbing my back.

''Aiden! You can't say stuff like that." I scold him.

"But its true." He winks at me. I roll my eyes.

"So how come I never met any of your exes?" I ask. It's true, Aiden never told me anything about his exes.

"Cause I never dated." He says like it's no big deal.

"Why?"

" I never met anyone I wanted to spend more than one night with, until you. Everybody else was just one night stands and occasional hook ups. What about you? " Wow I'm fluttered really.

"Ummh well you know Damian then there was this boy in high-school. We started off as friends but then I had a crush on him. I didn't know till later that he had the same feelings until he kissed me at his house. He was my first. Then in college, I had a couple of hook ups. When I came back home for spring break I met him again. His parents found us fucking and that's how my parents found out. And the rest is history." Aiden is gazing at me.

"Do you miss him?" He asks

"Who?" I ask frowning

"Your first lover." He says frowning. His gaze intense I recognize the jealousy.

"Aiden Jesus." I laugh. "I haven't see Killian in 2 years. Last I heard he joined the army. And I'm over him." I move closer to him. I lean up and press my lips on his then whisper, "You are the only one I want." I kiss him then pull away.

"Ben don't tease me like that baby you know how I...." he gasps, his eyes widening. Then I feel it. Something is wrong, I can feel it in our bond, I feel his pain before I even see the blood that spills from his mouth.

"Aiden!" I cry out as he falls towards me. I catch him in my arms and then I notice the arrow sticking on his back. He coughs blood.

"Run." He says weakly. I cry. I look around to see who did this then I spot 3 guys standing there. One is holding a bow and a sword. The 2 others have swords only. They are dressed in black cloaks. I've never experienced this kind of anger and fear.

"What did you fucking do!" I shout at them. They smirk at me .

Aiden grips me. "Hunters, they will kill you. Just go please. I will hold them off." He says weakly.

"I'm not fucking leaving you."

I don't know where I get the courage but I pull the arrow from his back and he groans. I rip the cloth apart and tie it around him to close the wound. I lean him against a tree.

"Don't be stubborn Ben, please leave, I will take care of this. The arrow is made of silver and is laced with wolfsbane. I just need a minute. Please." I ignore him and stand up and walk towards the 3 hunters. They look cocky. I'm going to fucking kill them.

The one with the arrow starts shooting at me. I dodge every one of his arrows. In an instant I'm infront of him. I wipe my claws which have somehow appeared, on his neck ripping the flesh. He holds his neck and falls on his knees. Blood pools down his chest fast. I don't watch him die and focus on the other two who are coming at me. The fighting comes naturally. I think it's the memories. I've never fought my entire life.

The other hunter swings his sword at me and I dogde him. I punch a hole in his chest just as Damian did to me. My fist comes back covered in blood . He falls down. I grab the other hunter by the neck and slam him on the tree. He coughs and struggles in my grip.

"How is it possible?" He says his voice strained from my grip on his neck. "I can feel you, you are not more than a week old but how can you be so powerful?" He says weakly. I smirk at him. His eyes widen in fear.

I turn his face to the side and sink my fangs in his neck. He screams but I don't stop. God the warm blood following into my mouth is so good. I drink until his heart stops beating. I throw his dry body aside. I want more. I want more killing, more fighting, more blood.

I run back to Aiden. He is standing now looking shocked. I stand infront of him.

"Are you okay?" I extend my arm to touch him but he takes a step back. My heart breaks.

"How..how did you do that?" He asks looking back at the bodies.

"I fought?" I say it like it's a question.

"No, no that's not an answer, I know what I saw. Even a vampire who is 10 years old wouldn't be as powerful as you."

No, no no he is going to find out. He is going to hate me. I can't let him find out about Seth. I can't tell him. My heart is beating rapidly. I can't let him see that side of him. I do what I never expected to do. I punch him hard in the face and he falls down blacking out.

"Aaah!" I scream shocked that I just did that. Why did I just punch him? I don't know. I was panicking. Fuck what do I do. I inspect him. His wound is already healing. He is the most powerful wolf in his pack. Even silver and wolfsbane aren't that dangerous him. On a normal wolf the wound from silver wouldn't have healed but on him it heals a little bit slower.

I'm sure the reason he just blacked out is because of the wound that weakened him. I need to get him to safety though.

I pick him up with all the strength I have and I run. I've very fast now as a vamp. When I reach the car, I put him in the passenger seat and then I drive towards the pack house.

When I arrive there, Mike is already on the front with Bannard.

"What fucking happened Ben?" Mike asks taking in Aidens form.

"Hunters, they attacked us." I say.

"Take him to the clinic." Bannard says to other wolves who carry Aiden inside. "Where are the hunters now?"

"Dead at the waterfall." I say keeping the information that I killed them to myself.

"Aiden is going to be fine. What happened is nothing compared to what he has been through in the past." I frown at Bannard's words. What could be possibly worse than that? "Come on, the Alpha wants to see you. You have to explain to him everything." Bannard motions me to come inside.

"Ummh just give me a minute. I'm still overwhelmed by all this. I'm coming." I lie. Bannard frowns and Mike gives me a sympathetic look.

"Take all the time you need. We will be in the briefing room." Mike says tugging Bannard with him. Bannard looks at me suspiciously. Does he know something?

Once I'm left alone outside. I listen to all of them as they move deeper into the house to the briefing room. I can tell they are going to have a meeting about all of this.

I run then. I run as fast as I can. My heart aches. I don't want to leave Aiden but what will happen when he discovers what I really am. Who I was. Who I'm turning to be. I can feel myself turning into him. The thoughts I sometimes have scare me. I run away cause I'm a coward. I run away cause I don't want to see the expression on Aiden's face when he wakes up.

Aiden is going to be pissed when he wakes up and heartbroken. I can't face him like this. I need to fix myself.

I run so fucking fast I know the Wolves can't catch me.
