章 14: Questions and interests

Before the captain could react by placing a huge blow punch to the scumbag's face for shamelessly kissing his Patricia in front of him, his subordinate entered the room and said, "Captain!! We have an emergency!! We need you right now!!". The captain then cooled down a little and he gave Patricia a look that their conversation was not over, and he then gave a scowl look to Jethro before turning to leave with his subordinate. But before he could leave, Jethro called after him, " Captain... Isaac..Phillips." And he stood up from the chair next to Patricia's bed and he went and stood in front of Isaac who had a scowl on his face and a dangerous aura emanating from him, and said, "Yes. I know you. I have seen you once at court before....when you and your federal agency falsely accused me of being a narcotics dealer. Too bad your...evidence did not show up in court to challenge your claim. But I do hope this time you will do your job right and make sure those scum bastards that tried to hurt my beautiful doll pay for what they did. Mmmm..." . Isaac did not reply but kept looking at Jethro intently, with obvious rage evident on his face and he did not reply but stomped out of the room after his subordinate.

Patricia silently listened and watched the spectacle between the two men. 'So his name is Isaac...' she thought and silently smiled. "What a pain in the ass that guy is..." said Jethro as he returned to take his seat next to Patricia's bed. Patricia felt a wave of anger about to erupt inside of her after hearing what Jethro said about her savior but she decided to swallow it and ask, "Why do you say that?" "He is just a pain in the ass. He has been coming after me a lot because of my business, and time and time again he always loses but the damn dog never gives up on his trail. I think it's about high time Mr X got rid of him otherwise he will keep on causing problems." Patricia felt her heart dropping into her stomach when she heard that Jethro wants to get rid of Isaac. She felt panicked that her savior was going to die even before she repays her debt to him for saving her life. So she thought of helping him in order to save him from such a horrible fate. "Tsk..anyway my doll...I am glad you are ok....and I am going to make sure that those bastards pay for trying to lay their hands on you." Said Jethro and he tried to hold Patricia's hand but she gently pushed him away.

"Why are you here? I thought you and I were no longer in agreement since you refused to give me a guarantee for my services. And I believe that we have nothing more to talk about so..." "Doll...doll..my beautiful doll. You know Patty....you truly amaze me. I truly thought that you were one of those whores that like to be clingy and ask for fancy things like cars or credit cards for shopping sprees. I was truly surprised when you asked me for a horse and a really expensive one for that matter. But anyway....what surprised me the most was that..." and he leaned forward in his seat and said in a low voice. "That you are still...pure....". Patricia flinched after hearing what Jethro said. Jethro smiled and said, "You truly are a very special lady indeed. I wonder how a....very beautiful woman like you...is still untouched up until now and considering the place you work ...that's quite interesting. I also wonder how an innocent flower like you ended up in a place like that and for what reason. Huh...."

Patricia firstly took a deep breath to calm her storm of emotions and she replied, " As far as I am concerned about this. This is no longer your concern Mr Morales. As of earlier my services with you are no longer valid. So you don't have to concern yourself with this. And with other matters I promise not to divulge anything to anyone. I...know I will have a lot to lose if I even try it so I won't do anything. So please leave....leave me alone and I promise not to bother you again. Since it's clear that I am valueless in your eyes. So please just go...." And Patricia pretended to be upset and hurt. "Please leave I would like to rest now". And she turned her back to Jethro pretending to want to rest. Jethro just shook his head and sighed, his doll was truly something else and strangely he liked it, he liked it very much. But since she was upset with him, he decided to leave her for now and try to coax her later. So he stood up from his chair wordlessly and went and stood by the door, he looked back at Patricia's back and he opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.

Patricia then turned around and saw that the door was closed, she then gently alighted from her bed since she now had some strength within her. She then went and took the golden box from inside her handbag and she went back and sat down on the bed. She started examining the box carefully and wondered how she was going to open it. As she was examining the box, the door to her room opened and she quickly hid the box under the pillow thinking that maybe Jethro had decided to come back again. But it was actually her best friend Nicole and her little brother Zachariah who came to visit her. "Patricia!" Said Nicole as she ran towards Patricia and hugged her. After a while she disengaged herself from her and sat beside Patricia on the bed. "Are you alright? How are you feeling now? What were you thinking traveling to the countryside at night..huh..did you want to get yourself into trouble huh! Why don't you ever listen me and stay put for once huh! Do you know how scared I was when we received the call about you being in the hospital after being shot at by some thieves! You...! " "OK! Ok! Enough with the questions and the scolding Nicky! I am fine see...I only got hurt a little but I am fine. And I promise to listen to you a little more this time ok. But please don't worry anymore I am fine mmmm...ok", said Patricia trying to reassure her over caring and panicking friend. "Ok...but you better keep your promise to listen to me a little bit more otherwise I will scold you until your ears bleed, you got that!" Said Nicole. "Ok! Ok! 'Mom' I will not break my promise. Are you happy now!" Said Patricia and she chuckled. "Yes! I am happy now!" Said Nicole and she hugged Patricia again whilst she chuckled as well.

"Well I am also glad you are ok Sis. You truly had us worried back then. And please....don't take late night patrols again and if you do please at least take me with you next time...so that I can protect you from any danger ok!" Said Zach. Patricia smiled at her little brother and for the first time she realized he was not so little anymore. He was already 19, a young handsome man with beautiful black short wavy hair, black eyes, sharp cheek bones, flat nose, pink lips and a beautiful built handsome body. She wondered how time flew so fast that her siblings were no longer little anymore. "Thank you Zach. I will definitely keep that in mind". Zach just shook his head and hummed in response and he surveyed the room and then asked, "Where is Alisha. Isn't she supposed to be here with you?" Patricia did not reply but just sighed and faced down.

Meanwhile, a couple of minutes earlier...

Alisha was on her way back to Patricia's room after contemplating with her thoughts about the previous conversation that she had with her. Alisha finally calmed down and realized that she might have gone too far with her accusations against Patricia. But she could not help it after overhearing what Patricia and Nicole were discussing that day. Yes...Nicole was not the only one that heard Patricia vomiting in the bathroom that morning she came back from her night shift. Alisha was awake doing her studies, preparing for her in class test which was taking place that day later at school. When she heard someone vomiting, she swiftly kept her books on the bed and she went out of her room to investigate what was happening. When she arrived downstairs to the bathroom that's when she heard Nicole and Patricia talking about Jonathan and how Patricia discovered his misdeeds after seeing him with another man at some club where she was working. At first Alisha was taken aback after hearing that Patricia worked at some night club as a waitress, she felt her emotions boiling with the thought that her sister was selling her body in order to fend for their family, something which she thought Patricia would never do. And she was disappointed that her sister decided to stoop so low in order to earn income.

However her thoughts changed after she followed them to Patricia's bedroom and heard some whispers about a mission and how Patricia was going to get in a game in order to bring someone down and make them pay for what they did to their family, and how she wanted to use Jonathan as a card and some guy called Jethro Morales. She couldn't catch much as the two of them talked in low voices. But it was enough for her to know that her sister was up to something and by the sound of things it was something dangerous. Alisha also did her little investigation about Jethro Morales and she discovered that he was an eccentric millionaire but with some shady secrets, and she wondered why Patricia wanted to be involved with him.

As Alisha was going back to the room, she stumbled upon, Jethro Morales leaving Patricia's room. She saw him stop for a while and then turning around to leave right in her direction. Alisha quickly turned down another hallway at the left side in order for him not to see her. After Jethro passed by, she waited for him to be at a distance until she started following him softly and silently.

Alisha followed Jethro outside the hospital and she saw him talk to two bulky looking men near the hospital's entrance. She softly exited the building and went and hid behind a pillar near them in order to hear what they were talking about. " I need you to keep an eye on my Patty. That wolf Phillips is hanging around this hospital and asking a lot of questions. Make sure she doesn't say anything that could compromise me otherwise Mr X will deal with me badly. Make sure to take care of her until I come back. And if she tries to say anything to Phillips....make sure she remembers what she will lose if she tries to do any funny business. You know what her two most precious weaknesses are....you deal with them so that she stays in line." Said Jethro and he wore his shades and entered his black Porsche and left the scene. Alisha clasped her hands on her mouth after hearing what Jethro said. She knew very well the two most precious weaknesses that Jethro referred to, it was her and Zachariah. What was that bastard going to do them? And who is Phillips? As Alisha was thinking this she accidentally pushed a flower vase near the pillar and it fell and made a loud sound. The two bulky men were alerted and they motioned each other to go and check the perimeter for someone who might have listened to their conversation. Alisha felt her heart thumping loudly in her chest as she thought, 'Oh my god! I am definitely done for' as she heard the footsteps of the men getting closer. However as they were about to reach the pillar, two ambulances arrived with some emergency patients and there was a commotion that distracted the men for a while and when one them went to look behind the pillar...he found nothing but a vase which was now standing upright. Unbeknownst to all of them a man was standing at a window on the sixth floor watching everything unfold. He just smiled after seeing his Patricia's little sister doing detective work and he said in low voice, " This is going to be interesting".
