章 3: 2 the calm
After that night I found out I had a daughter that I had become a father and now I'm responsible for a young girl an infant I have no idea how to take care of a child so I decided to move back in with my parents to my dismay. I was not looking forward to having this conversation that's mostly because I am runaway Noble my family is one of the oldest human weapons Smiths in the Duren Empire. priding themselves in their ability to forge weapons close to the quality of the Dwarven King herself. My reunion with my family went both better and worse than I expected well my mother was extremely happy that I was back and welcome to my daughter with open arms my father on the other hand a very Stern woman decided I would have to earn my keep and that I would not receive any inheritance and so on and so forth honestly I kind of tuned them out after a while. the most important thing is she would put me in charge of one of her shops and I would have to earn my own money which honestly suited me just fine. Mother let me stay at the family's estate while I adjusted to my new life. which was incredibly difficult I had to balance between forging new weapons managing a shop and being a single parent all at once there were days I wanted to cry and give up but then I would see my daughter smiling face as she cooed at me and I would think I would do anything for this child my beautiful Twilight. She look just like her mother with platinum hair and beautiful Silver Eyes and she had like birthmark in the shape of a wolf on her right shoulder the birthmark had a silver tint to it if you didn't know better you would think it was a tattoo.
Three years past I was finally getting the hang of ping single parent took me long enough right. I found a balance in my life that Twilight had no problem throwing completely out the window whenever it was convenient for her. She was mischievous always getting into trouble had an insatiable curiosity wanted to do everything I did and plenty of things I didn't there are plenty of times I just wanted to pull my hair out but most of the time I just found her completely adorable. The shop was doing all right I wasn't rolling in cash or anything but I made enough to live comfortably with my daughter I moved out of my parents place and bought a small house close to my Forge.
2 years later I decided to take Twilight out for her birthday celebrating the 5 years since she came into my life and she was happily eating her ice cream. at this lovely little cafe that we were sitting in a pair of thugs from the local street gang decided today was the day we were going to rob this place. Of course some idiot decided to play Hero and in the ensuing fight one of the thugs plasma pistols went off and the shot went straight for Twilight. I could do nothing but scream it seemed as if time itself slowed as I watch the projectile flight towards my precious daughter. Then the strangest thing happened just as it was about to hit Twilight the projectile had suddenly dispersed as if it was never been fired in the first place. Not long after that the city guard came and arrested the two thugs and the idiot who thought it was a bright idea to be a hero. Later when we got home I called my parents and with their help I got an appointment with a professor at the local magic Academy. I was concerned about my daughter's new ability if that's what it was honestly I wasn't sure until we had her tested it turns out she had the ability to nullify all energy kinetic magic any didn't matter if it was traveling at a certain velocity the energy would be completely dispersed. Needless to say I was shocked to learn of this but also kind of Happy if not a little concerned unique abilities like this tend to do attract unwanted attention particularly from the Royal military and that was not the life I wanted for my daughter I only hoped I was strong enough to protect her.
