I hated that I was leaving Leonora but I needed to do this for us. There wasn't any way that I would let Claire manipulate the council anymore than she planned to. Leonora wasn't a traitor. She was my mate and I knew she felt something for me the same way I did for her.

"Can I get a kiss before I leave?" I asked and she smiled. I haven't seen her smile like that in so long. I really wanted her to move back in with me but I understood why she didn't want to. Baby steps.

"Only if, you let me have my siesta in your room tomorrow. Your bed is extremely comfortable and I really need to sleep." She said and I nodded frantically. Anything to get her close to me, I would do it. I leaned to kiss her and at the same moment she turned her cheek making me kiss her cheek. "Okay that's it." She said before turning away.
