Brenna POV
Sleep didn’t come easily once I got back to the room. I tossed and turned and lay in all manner of abnormal positions, hoping something would finally click and allow me to get the rest I so desperately needed.
I didn’t like the stressors that kept popping up in my professional life. It wasn’t that the work was hard, or that I had much to complain about. After dealing with both Amanda and now Kyle, I was having trouble shaking off both encounters.
When I was younger, my parents had always taught me to not let things get to me and to brush off the negative comments that came my way. I was fantastic at pretending to brush them off, but once I was alone, the comments crept their way back into my mind, becoming trapped in my memory years into the future.
