In a grand forest where trees looked like they could reach the sky, Haste was fighting against a big dog.
Though, this dog wasn't a cute pet like those one could imagine.
No, far from it.
This dog was as big as Haste, so more or less 164 centimeters. It had a muscular body, long and sharp teeth with saliva dripping from its mouth.
No need to say that it was a scary dog.
However, this monster certainly looked intimidating at first glance, but its speed was another matter. It was so slow that someone could almost reload a musket while the dog was running to hit them.
And Haste decided to wait for the right moment with his normal-looking sword in his hands.
He was waiting and waiting, and once the dog was at good range, he swung his sword vertically to try and cut it in half.
But the reality wasn't as kind as he expected.
*Cling*
The dog's body was sturdy, so the sword bounced upon impact, throwing Haste off-balance. Thus, the dog managed to headbutt him.
Haste flew for quite some time before rolling on the ground.
"Tch," A voice resounded in his ears. "Not even capable of killing a level 4 monsters,"
The next moment, Haste heard the wind bend under someone's speed before the dog flew and crashed into a tree. Thus killing it immediately.
"Let's return to the mansion, young master," The earlier voice said with a rude tone. "There's no use staying here since you can't even fight against one of the weakest monsters in the world."
Haste got up slowly. Making the man even more impatient.
Once he was on his feet, his black hair came in front of his dead-looking blue eyes. He then said with a low voice. "Y-yes. Let's go home."
"Tch," The man clicked his tongue once again.
They walked for around five minutes to reach the nearest city before crossing a teleportation gate.
They then came to another city with a giant-looking mansion at the far end of this city.
They then headed toward their since Haste was the young master of this mansion.
During their little trip, Haste couldn't help but look at his status.
Name: Haste Laborde
Status: Ordinary
Level: 2
EXP: 5/15
Blessing: none
Skills: Sword slash, 9 slots remaining
Stats: Strength 6, Stamina 4, Agility 8, Vitality 4, Magic Power 11
Free stats points: 0
Seeing his Status, Haste couldn't help but curse at himself.
People who were his age were higher level than him. Not from much since no one has the right to go and fight monsters before they had reached 17 and half years old. But they were still higher level. And that only means that those people had at least some potential. Contrary to him.
The Laborde family was known worldwide for their great strength. They were high-level people and had great powers. They also had a blessing. Showing their potential.
His parent then gave birth to his brother, Jil, who had developed the Animancy attribute. This attribute alone showed how strong he could become in the future. He also received a blessing from a great being, making the Laborde family's reputation skyrocket.
Some years later, they gave birth to Haste. However, when they find out that he didn't have any attributes, they almost disowned him. Even his brother who was previously kind to him slowly turned cold, treating him as no more than trash.
Even the house staff like the maids and butler began to bully him in secret by either not giving him food, badmouthing him, or even hitting him before healing him so that no one would know what had happened. Not that his parent would have done anything to them even if they knew about it.
It was how much Haste was important to them. In other words, dead or alive, it didn't really matter to them.
And his current level also proved how weak he was.
He couldn't even kill a simple monster.
Maybe it was because of his thin body, or as his parent said his poor talent. Nonetheless, he was probably the weakest human humanity had known from the beginning of this world.
Once they finally came to the mansion, the man went to report to the head of the house. In other words, Haste's father, thus leaving him alone.
Because of that, Haste was still in front of the gate. Alone, without anyone even glancing at him. And instead of walking toward the mansion, Haste ran in the opposite direction.
He ran as fast as he could to the far end of the city he lived in.
Tears were dropping from his eyes. He was biting his lips so much that even blood began to flow down.
And even though it hurt, he didn't stop.
'I'm tired of all of this,' Haste thought, trying his best not to rush into the people in the street. 'What's the point of living in such a wealthy family if it's to be seen as trash. If it's to be treated in such a way by everyone. What's the point of living?
'I thought that with time, everything would have calmed down. Things would have looked brighter. But in the end, for what? I just got even more bullied.
'Be it at home or school. What's the point of living if I can't even fight back?' He suddenly felt something cold entering his shoes.
It was seawater.
The city he live in was surrounded by the sea, thus making it the perfect place for tourist
"What's the point of living like this?" Haste murmured to himself. "No one had even wished me a happy birthday even though it's today," He slowly walked forward. The water reached his knees. "I am so forgettable that I'm sure they don't even know it's today." The water reached his neck.
"No, I'm sure they don't even care if I'm alive or not," He murmured to himself before slowly going underwater.
Some people on the beach had seen him, but didn't pay attention nor did anything since they just thought he just wanted to go to the water before the sun had set.
Thus, they didn't see when Haste put his head underwater.
And Haste hadn't come here to take a bath or anything.
No. Far from it.
He had just lost the will to live.
He was fed up with all these things. Of his life, and how people were treating him or even looking at him.
He was fed up with everything.
Angry at everything.
But most importantly, he was angry at himself for being so weak.
So he slowly drifted underwater. Soon enough, he wouldn't be able to hold his breath anymore.
And this time finally came.
He began to breathe the water.
The water began to slowly fill his throat and his nose, drowning him.
However, suddenly, something happened.
Haste began to shine in a blue color.
This color slowly reached the sky before forming a giant blue and transparent clock.
It was so big that the people on the beach got scared, while the people on the far end of the city like those in the mansion saw this giant clock.
"Did someone got blessed?" Jin, Haste big brother said. He just came back from his hunting session.
That was right. When someone got blessed, a phenomenon would usually happen. This phenomenon depends on the blessing.
It could be something small, indicating the blessing came from a special being, or something big like what was happening right now, indicating a god blessing.
And that was right.
The person who got blessed was none other than Haste.
The clock pendulums suddenly went back by a minute, creating a shock wave that made all people turn back in time by a minute.
Haste included.
"Heh?" Haste was shocked. He didn't understand how he could be in front of the sea whereas he was drowning a second ago. "What happened?"
His answer came in the form of a message.
[Congratulation. The God of Time has blessed you]
