They were both injured, but the fire went out before Don could be seriously burnt and the healer on-site made the gash in Jake's side disappear in minutes. It was not a real surprise to either of them who won. A magic swordsman would outdo any mage of the same level, especially if the mage is faking it.
"Not only are you a magic swordsman, but of the lightning element too."
A few seconds of silence pass before Jake yells.
"THAT BADASS"
He jokingly hit Don's shoulder
As they smiled at each other and continued into round two.
They fought around 10 times, both getting more precise with their strikes as time went on. As the rounds continued Jake fell more and more behind as battle didn't give him any exp when it did for Don. Even after pushing his bonus stat into magic, he struggled tremendously. After all that, he quietly walked home, dreading what waited for him in his sleep.
He returned home and prepared for bed, testing his claws and hoping it would transfer over to the world of cultivation. He wanted to tell his parents about his class and skills but was still scared, maybe one day in hell would help him come up with an idea.
After an hour in bed, he couldn't take the waiting anymore and went into the training dimension. He opened up the book he had gotten as a reward and saw it only had 3 chapters. The first one described all of the most common grade medals, the second described the same for gems. The third and final chapter is where it got interesting, with something called the Triop technique.

After he had finished reading the book, the message appeared.

It described a method of shaping metal that revolved around triangles being raised and lowered on the top of the metal. On top of decoration, it allowed one to pick between Magic or Strength depending on which way they were facing. This would let him have more say over what would come out of his items, if he wanted one of the 2 stats.

This quest was phenomenal for him, except for one small issue. He had no more materials left. Even a .1 carat fire gem was almost 200 dollars, so he definitely couldn't afford to get a new gem. But he was too tired to think about it at this point and exited the training dimension.

His eyes opened once again and his strength was restored, but his situation was still the same. A child slave, without anyone. Fortunately, his ring stayed in his soul and he continued to have its power in him.
"I hope y'all can read, because if you can't you will all die in the first round." She burst into a loud fit of laughter at the thought of watching the slaves being slaughtered.Jake and his group trembled as a book was thrown on the dirt floor of the barn. It was crusty and old, but it could still be made out. It was called the howling tiger technique from one. Opening it up, it had a ton of diagrams showing a man pushing his energy around his body, then focusing it into his core before exerting it out into his palm.
It looked very simple, but even beginning to move the ki around was a difficult task. But either way, it was worth trying. Jake knew that they would force him to fight, and if he wanted to win but not kill his opponent he would need a lot of strength, more than his claws could offer. Focusing in on his body, he imagined his magic core, and right below it was his dantian. This is where the kid was held. He looked down below the picture to see the text that stated 'Envision yourself in a blank space with only your ki pool, then let the tiger in you roar.' It was such a simple line, but it really was the key to unlocking the technique.
Jake and a few other of the kids got into the lotus position and began meditating. His pool of ki sat there, unmoving. Just a single touch rippled through the entire sea. As his finger dipped into the pool he could feel an intense burn stretching and pulling his muscles apart. He sat there and was unsure what it meant to "Unleash your inner tiger and let it roar." Just like a tiger, he has to trust his instincts. And with that thought, he jumped head first into his pool of ki. It was like nothing he had ever felt. The power was around him and ripping him apart, the tiger flowed through his lungs and the pool absorbed into him quickly. When all the liquid had entered his being and the scream stopped, he opened his eyes back into the world.
